How would a whippled 600rwhp cobra do against a full bolt on camaro ss with 28inch slicks and skinnies,150 shot of nitrous, 9in moser rearend. The guy ran a best of a 7.9 in the 1/8 without the shot. Im fixing to get a cobra and want to know if ill have to worry about anything cuz the guy likes to talk.

First off get a Cobra first lol. Then it better be packing 600 hp and some damn good tires. After that it'll be a drivers race. With a 150 shot he'll be damn close or in the 6's in the 1/8th mile.

The Camaro is going to have a 150 shot:read: also.
I read.... The Cobra is "supposedly" going to be Whippled too.... :burn:

1/8th mile... It'll be close, unless it's a SRA car with some weight mods. Full 1/4 I'd put the bet on the Cobra.

A 600rwhp Cobra is capable of 10's.... Easy. The Camaro, even on the 150shot is gonna have trouble breaking into the bottom 11's with just bolt ons.... Unless he has alot of weight reduction. I had a 99 SS M6 with full bolt ons and a 150shot thru a 12bolt with 3.73s and I only put down 508rwhp. Im not seeing him put anywhere near down 600rwhp with just those mods, so....

If youre a good driver, you shouldnt have a problem beating him.

Just in the 1/8th mile a Cobra with a Whipple does not = 6's or even 7.0's. Believe me I've been doing it this year. It still takes everything to come together.

So how do you guys think a 550rwhp Cobra would do against a stock C6 ZR1?
Can the Cobra do better then :
0-60:3.4
1/4:11.4
top speed 205?

Well a 550rwhp in optimal conditions is capable of running bottom 11's.... Even a very high 10. Now thats with a great driver as well.

A ZR1 will most likely do better then an 11.4 though being as a bone stock C6 Z06 is capable of high 10's.... With nothing but a pair of drag radials.

And Im pretty sure a Cobra wont come close to 205mph with 550rwhp....

So, I would have to give the win to the ZR1.... :-D

Hum, IDK a Fbody is a very good drag racing car, and they launch much better than a pre-05 Mustang on a stock suspension, and IMO a 03/04 Cobra is the hardest Mustang that I've every driven to launch good. (I don't go to the track, I'm just talking from driving the cars on the street) I've talked to people that DR their Terminators and they say with a stock suspension setup it takes some finesse to get a good launch. Also Fbodies are fast for the power they make. I think it probably has alot to do with the way a LSx goes about making its power. Don't get me wrong I'm not saying your going loss, and not to do this race, I'm just saying don't go half steppin to him. Fbodies with a few mods will run, especially with some spray, and especially more if he was cammed to go along with it.

I say you're going to lose until you actaully get a Cobra. Sorry but threads like this don't make much sense to me. I know I responded and all but why even ask if you don't even have a car yet?

Just curious. When do you plan on buying your Cobra? What mods/budget have you put together on paper for the power you're looking for? How much track experience do you have?
