I made 431.6/374ft.lb@ 7000 rpm. with a navigator based engine in 2002. A year later (and alot of work) made 500.1/426 @7400 with another navi engine. I blew it up with a failure under the timing chain cover. Now running a 00R based engine and currently at 524/440 and rev it 8000 rpm. I am working ona lighter version '05 now..Here's the big pieces.

I get email from an Australian site on Ford and they had their new Falcons and MK111s and the pics on that site decribing the engines had those same intakes. Is that the source? The Aussies now have a street car putting out 390HP/400lbs torque using a 5.4 DOHC setup. But it must be nice to have an 00R to play with!! They sound awesome!

Boss330 what camshafts and valvetrain are you using to make power to 8000 rpm .My R motor falls off above 6800 rpm with the stock cams [ engine has JE pistons ,ported heads, custom long tube headers diablo revolution custom tune].

Thanks
Tim

Nice to see someone with an R and some real modifications. What kind of #s does it make?
Al is building me a carbon copy of his '04 race motor and I absolutely can't wait! The motors use custom billet cams (with more lift and duration than stock, obviously) and one of Al's pro stock bike (13,500rpm .550"+ lift) spring kits--duals, Ti, and only $750. You'll also need custom valves, but these motors deserve them anyway

Yeah, but for reliability, I still prefer the "stock" 00R engine. I've seen several NASA racers and other guys with huge HP engines and they're always having all sorts of problems. Everybody gets giddy with big HP/torque numbers, but for me the REAL thing is handling. Heck, my 03 has 100 more HP, but the R is still faster. If you open track or road race, the only thing that matters is lap times. Period!

Watch out Bruce, I just noticed this is my 500th post. I'm only 3,435 behing now!

I'll also be doing some open tracking with my 520rwhp N/A '00R head 5.4L, I'm not worried a bit about reliability. Extra horsepower may not be your saving grace, but it's definitely not a bad thing to have.

No. The Boss 260/290 use a completely different intake than the '00R though they do look somewhat similar in design. The Aussie version mates up with '03/04 DOHC heads (marauder, cobra, mach, aviator) not the larger/raised port '00R/'05GT heads.

I don't know who owns the car now, but about two years ago, I met a guy who owned a 00 R that was supercharged. It was in mm&ff or 5.0 a few years back as well. He said it was ~600 or so hp. I think the motor let go and don't know what happened to it...

Der, I just noticed it said N/A ignore me.

I know that Tim Brown's car has a nicely modified 5.4L but I'll let him post the actual numbers if he would like.

The New Zealand guys are running the new 6.0L SH motor for now. I heard after they talked to Tim they may be going back to a 5.4L.

We are going to keep running our 6.0L shm Alloy motor and refresh our 5.4L

Were you having ring trouble?

There no problems with the origonal 5.4 we are just going to go to 12:1 comp and keep it as a spare engine, As we do a lot of endurance racing ie 6 hours etc we need a spare engine, The orig 5.4 has done 14000 race miles only since new
