Ok, So after about a month of work and delay due to school and weather, I should finally have my car back together by this weekend ready for a 4 wheel alignment.

Everything done:
FTBR 5001 kit
Ford Racing diff cover
Lube Locker 8.8 gasket
New diff
New diff bearings and seals
New stub shaft pilot bearings and seals
New TOB
TPS slotted rotors
Hawk HPS pads

So I was just watching the FTBR install video and did some research to find out that I have an after market front diff brace. I am installing FTBR front diff bushings, can anyone tell me if this front diff brace is going to make a different when install the diff with the new bushings?

The Ford front diff support brace or aftermarket 'front torque brace' as its sometimes called, both fit pretty much the same.

Thank you for the fast reply and do you know off hand what the torque setting is for the tie rod end that connects to the IRS cradle?

The FTBR FT 1350M is the new Ford Racing cover, that should be good strength wise. What do the swaybar end links help with? Can they be easily installed with the IRS in?

Adjustable sway-bar endlinks and sway-bar bushings can be installed after the IRS is in..but it's best to do them now if you can.$$$$$

The old sway-bar bushings are crap rubber and the OEM endlinks aren't fun to do "later."..I know..because that's what I did.

Question: Are you getting the sub-frame bracket reinforcements?? FTBR??, billetflow, steeda..welding required.
I see you are getting the IRS cross-member brace (forward torque brace)? and at least the bushings from FTBR??..if you don't have an 03-04 IRS.

How much was the diff bearings and seals? Also where did you order them from?

And if you do that..at least look at a detroit truetrac..and maybe a change of gears....or save some work for a later project...

The old sway-bar bushings are crap rubber...

Yeah, except for so many guys that are completely oblivious, the rear sway bar sizes are different in the '99/'01 & '03/'04. You can't put the poly bushings on the '03/'04 bar (26mm) since they are made only for the '99/'01 (25mm). Then again, it's always comical to hear guys gripe about the "crap poly" when the wrong size bushings bind up and cause problems:rollseyes

I can't do much or say much for people that are brainwashed into poly but just so others are aware, you will have FAR less issues with OEM rubber sway bar bushing mounts than you will with poly. Poly is NOT a material that is conducive to anything that articulates. Poly is fine for motor and trans mounts and garage floor coatings! :read::idea:

Yes, we are all so brainwashed when we use poly...

I can't do much or say much about how nice the 29mm poly bushings are when matched correctly to the 29mm sway bar, for example. The guys at Eibach must really be out of their minds.

Like I've told you about 17 times before, (perhaps it was 24 times?) my experiences with poly have not been good. Let's take the Kenny Brown IRS control arms I purchased for example. They had shitty poly bushings in them. When I put them in my car, I had wheel hop. Why did I have wheel hop? Because I had horrendous control arm deflection from those shitty poly bushings you love so much. Along with the wheel hop and control arm deflection came slower speeds in the turns on the road course. Corvettes were able to catch me.

Once I removed the shitty poly bushings in those control arms and installed my Delrin Kenny Brown control arm bushing set, my wheel hop went away. Not only did the wheel hop go away, I was able to spank the Corvettes in the corners. I know you don't care about that because you don't take your car to the track. And I fully understand that the track is not for everyone. But for the people that do care about the efficiency of an IRS assembly, they will listen to my advice.

If you love poly so much, I think you should take my previous advice and start a poly 'pity party' thread for you and the other two SVTP members that love poly so much! :rollseyes

For the people reading this thread, would you rather get advice from an 'internet know-it-all' that loves poly, or would you want to get your suspension advice from a guy that's 'been there and done that' and is the current NASA American Iron Road America track record holder? :read::idea:

You decide! :thumbsup::coolman::beer:

Yes, the “Internet know-it-all” advice of simply using the correct size bushing is so far-fetched that only the other two (or is it three?) poly users out there would be astute enough to catch it. For those who pay attention: when you use a 25mm poly bushing on a 26mm sway bar, it will bind and cause many more problems than the “crappy rubber”. Placing the blame on the bushing, just because it is poly, is completely misplaced, yet still comical.

Here's some on track video of me passing a bunch of Z06's on track with my aluminum, UHMW and Delrin equipped IRS:

Z06's going down like cheap dates

Let's see your track videos and how well those shitty poly bushings perform where it really counts. Oh wait, you can't take your car on track with those shitty prothane IRS bushings because the same thing will happen to you that happened to this guy:

http://www.svtperformance.com/forums/open-track-racing-203/443217-irs-sure-gets-hot.html

He melted his MM prothane diff mount bushings. :(

Or how about people battling wheel hop. Guess what? Once again if you remove all of that shitty poly material in your IRS assembly INCLUDING subframe bushings, you can finally erradicate ALL wheel hop just like this member did:

http://www.svtperformance.com/forums/suspension-modifications-211/838027-ftbr-great-stuff.html

Poly is a good material for a coating for a garage floor and I'm going to be putting it down on the garage floor in my new condo. That's the closest you'll see poly to any of my cars.
