I highly doubt the guy will get convicted on the murder charge. He will probably plea down to vehicular manslaughter and get the maximum sentence for that. Even if he doesn't I don't see murder charges sticking. It was a reckless and stupid thing to do but it doesn't really follow the definition for murder IMO. But hey I'm not a lawyer.

Damn, what an idiot. He was probably one of the many on here talking about how it's "only my life I risk when I race/speed absurdly on public roads". A lot of good that mentality did him and innocent drivers/passengers. :nonono:

Clearly the cars fault. Better ban the mustang.

I wouldn't go as far as banning them. Just get rid of the roadkill section entirely. Leave a section just for actual drag times and that's it..

Agreed. I did not mean ban the individual, just ban posting of illegal street races. Do not get me wrong, I love to watch a good race just as much as the next guy, but I do not agree with racing illegally on public roads. To then post it up on an enthusiast forum, just gives all of us a bad name especially when tradegies like this happen.

Plenty of douche bags do the same thing lurk around on this site. Drive so fast and greatly puts the lives of innocent people in danger. Gotta ask yourself, am I that DB? This guy apparrently was....

He actually never posted in that section from what I could find. Unless someone cleaned up his posts he was not posting kill stories here.

That is stupid. This is one of the only forums where you can post kills on the street. Like it or not it happens and YOU and about every single other person to post in this thread has at one point or another done EXACTLY what everyone is crying and calling foul about.

Street racing is not OK, I'm not saying it is and I'm not saying its smart but if you have EVER in your life so much as ran your car through 1st and 2nd at WOT on any other street but the interstate then you are no better than anyone else. It doesn't take 140mph to kill an innocent person. 60mph in a 45 will do the trick a lot of the time. All it takes is you going to fast and someone pulling out in front of you and you not being able to stop. Plain and simple. People need to stop throwing stones when everyone here is guilty of driving to fast for the street they are on at one point or another. I have personally seen several of the people in here post in road side or in pics and video about their street races. You guys know who you are, so stop bitching.

while i agree with your post to a certain degree...you would expect a certain responsiblity that comes with so much power...

my car is definetly capable of running some good times but i do it late at night when no one is on the road. i expect people with similar or higher horsepower cars to do the same.

You've got all that horsepower. It's really only good for very short bursts here and there on the streets. Taking it up to 150+ MPH is absolutely beyond reckless.

I've been arrested for and spent time (2 days) in jail for street racing. Was it stupid? Yes. Did I deserve jail time and a huge fine? Yes. Did I learn my lesson? Yes. Do I still street race? No. Before I got caught I probably raced on the street over 50 times. Each time I got more ballsy than the last. It started out in the outskirts of town on the interstate late at night but with time it got closer and closer to the city until I was eventually caught.

I've also taken my cobra up to 150 mph on the 202 highway at 3 am. I don't do it anymore because I realize how reckless it is. What happened with this guy could have happened to me 5 years ago. I just happened to get lucky in getting caught street racing and it made me wake up and become a mature and responsible adult. With all that said I'm not going to throw stones when clearly I've done the same shit in the past. I just hope more people wake up and mature before they become very unlucky.

Street racing is just plain dumb. I am 34 now but I used to street race lots in my 83 5.0 or my 79 ford with a 460. But when I was 19 my buddy was killed in a non street racing cr accident. It had a huge effect on me. I never street raced again.

The other thing they have done in British Columbia is the 40kph law. Get caught 40 over and your ride gets towed and impounded for a week. All together will cost about 1g.

Hate to read about stories like this. I also hate seeing street racing videos. After I quit street racing I picked up skydiving and paragliding. Safer way to get my kicks. And legal.

Absolutely, I've done it. To anyone who says they've never broken the speed limit with their car is bsing. I've "killed" plenty of cars since I've purchased the cobra but don't find the need to post it up on the forums. Honestly who gives a shit? We all know our cars are fast but no need to post it up on a forum. Everything he gets charged with he deserves for recklessly driving on a busy highway. I could care less about him but when you get a story like that redirecting back to the forums its not exactly something you want.

Nice Evo. Be safe out there. I see from your sig you have a new engine in, just waiting for a tune. What mods did you do to it?

A perfect example of one website that does not allow street race posts is evolutionm.net...

So where are all the liberals calling for horsepower control laws?
Obviously, it was the horsepower's fault for this, much like it was the fault of the gun for the CT school shootings.

I'm all for limiting high performance cars to people who have proven they are safe drivers :rolling:
