I work at a Dodge dealership and prior to getting my GT500 we had a SRT392 on the lot. Feelings got hurt *not mine*, just saying auto or manual if you can half way drive over from the start. My Gt was stock 6sp and it was an Auto. Jumped on it 1/4 after that if you keep going it will catch you.
dig or roll Im not racing past 120 mph on the street so it wont go too far past 1/4

lol see, it happens everywhere.

so you beat a 392 with a stock A6 GT? Now I really aint sceered! good kill!!
It comes down to driver honestly, salesman here has a big mouth and cant drive a three wheeled yugo in a circle. He blows the tires on the start then bye bye. There was money on it raced three times no contest. But i will say this towrds the end of the 1/4 you could tell it was coming on strong. My GT was stock 6sp but I think I am better then average gear banger. Now with my GT500 I suck banging into second there must be something up with it. But I do not care because I may lose a little in gear shift BANG but that freight train comes a pushing

Your friend is an idiot. :nonono:

Forget about ragging on a brand new $50K car that hasn't been properly broken in yet. All it takes is one person to pull out front of you guys (whether your fault or not) and the owner of the dealership will be stuck in court for two years, be out at least six figures, and will most certainly lose his commercial insurance! That's not just stupid, it's potentially criminal.

I had a client total an SL55 AMG on a test drive back in 2008 (we were T-boned by someone who blew a red light) and it took me over two years to get paid on the car and the guy's insurance who hit us STILL wouldn't cover the whole price of it- even though it wasn't our fault! Two insurance companies and three lawyers all fighting back and forth. A complete nightmare!

Not being a goody-two-shoes- I've road-raced more than I should have, but there is a time and place for everything and this isn't it. Find another 392 to race out on the open road somewhere- that's actually being driven by the guy who owns it. Don't participate in your friend's poor decision making.

Its a drivers race, but since I have run 12.2's @ 114 in the bone stock 392 Challenger I had, you could have some problems if he knows how to drive it. :)

sounds like you own or run a dealership, and like I said before, it happens everywhere including yours. If I owned a dealership I wouldnt want my employee's out racing my cars but simple fact is I dont own this dealership so I dont give a shit...hey kinda like when they dont give a shit when they are TRYING to bend ALL their customers over with no lube!!

Everyone else does it! That makes it ok in my book...

You justify it because its not your dealership and dealerships "bend people over" on prices. Nice logic! You are an upstanding person; Hell, I like you. You can come over to my house and **** my sister.

It always amazed me when I ran sales departments at dealerships how consumers think that dealerships are evil for trying to make money on the sale of their cars. It's a ****ing business people! Is Safeway evil for making a 40% profit on the can of beans they sold you? How about the girl scouts? You think they're slinging thin mints @ cost? Amazing.

I love it when people get in arguments with me about how dealerships "screw people over" all the time. Howabout that candy bar you just paid 75 cents for? It cost them a fraction of a cent to make it, but you're not bitching about that. No one who isn't IN the business will EVER understand how much it costs the business to just have a customer open the door and walk in. It's hopeless. :nonono:

I predict your buddy is going to get fired.

Hopefully. When I worked at the Dodge dealer all the SRT cars were off limits unless your name was on the building or if you were signing the papers for the car. The kind of disrespect that both the OP and his buddy apparently don't have a problem with would not have been tolerated. What goes around comes around though.

Maybe this thread ought to get passed around to dealers in the area so they can keep an eye on their Challengers.

My father has a 392 (auto) and my 5.0 is an (auto). We ran from a few digs and one 60-140+ run. It all comes down to who gets the jump. It's amazing how close our cars were. If you spin from a dig and he doesn't.. You won't catch him. And same goes for the 392 if it spins it won't catch you. His car is now tuned and mine will be soon.
So we will run here pretty soon.
All these runs were probably 60 degrees out that night and he had less than 200 miles on the car! His fastest 0-60 was 4.3 and he ran 12.8 in the 1/4 a couple days later.

We really need a bench racing section for these type of threads then IF and only IF the race happens just post it in the road kill section. It makes sense since recently ALOT of bench racing threads have been made and some come through but alot more don't.

Not saying OP's race won't happen but it usually doesn't. My opinion since both are stock I see the SRT edging out the '13. Please get video OP, for the love of all that is baby jebus.

If this race goes down, stock for stock, I think that the 392 will take the win by a very narrow margin. Now, being that this car belongs to the dealership and your buddy, the salesman, is going to race it against you after the race has been publicized like this on an open forum, he may want to reconsider, as his job may depend on it...

BINGO!!! The race will still go down but I dont want to offend anymore people by opening their eyes to what happens EVERY SINGLE DAY (except sunday)

BTW costco, girl scouts, and candy bar companies do not lie to my face and try and sell me a snickers for $38.59!!!

Typical sales guy responses in here. We are here to make money= please pay sticker so I can make alot of money on this deal for doing nothing.

I sold new toyota's when i was younger and sold 7 cars my first month and my reward was a $75 paycheck for two weeks and some typical dealer mumbo jumbo bs that dealers give the customers when I asked why
