I noticed you always have to put in your 2 cents when it comes to 5.0s.
I have a 5.0, I don't think its the fastest.
Also why do you have to bring in your car? No one gives a shit, the original discussion is about a 5.0 beating a badly driven gt500.
I'm pretty sure majority of us would rather have the '11&'12 gt500 vs a lowly 5.0. We needed to save money and got the 5.0 instead. Now we have extra $ for banana republic shirts and guns to take pics with. :bored:
A loaded 5.0 are the same price range as a 2011 GT500
You clearing dont know the performance aspect when you start modding the 2 in actual track times. Then again why would you know when you cant even afford the stripes on it. Now I know what I couldnt buy though... a 65k+ '13 GT500. You seem upset bc you own the fat slow pig model :bowdown:

Simple physics will tell us that a 550HP car will outrun a 425HP car of the same size. However, as Poppa said, spinnin aint winnin. These GT500's love to tear the tires apart. The power is too much for stock rubber. It's a known fact.
Let's stop the shenanigans and get back to supporting each other. Who do we have to prove to while sitting behind a computer screen? I love all Mustangs. If I couldn't have afforded a GT500 I would have a 5.0, but since I was fortunate enough to have the option, I went with the Shelby. Anybody that wants to tell me that I wasted my money on a "slow pig" can do so. I know what I bought and why. Meet me for a 3rd gear pull and we will wait for the outcome.

OK however I bring facts to the table.. in 2011 when ford released the original gt information they showed 0-60 of 4.4 and 1/4 mile of 12.6... in the next month the 2010 owners of the 4.6 gt and the prior 2010 gt500 owners threw a fit because the old iron block gt500 was putting up similar numbers in stock trim, 4.3 0-60 and 12.5 1/4 mile times.. ford changed its sales brochures because some dealers still had a gt500 KR on the lots... now all things being equal will a gt500 pull a gt? Yes, will a bolt on gt make it a drivers race? You bet.. will a modded terminator make us both cry? Hell yes, I would still take a 2013 gt500, but until then I'm happy with my 2011 gt.. now shawdog admitted in his haste to defend the gt500 he looked up the performance numbers for a v6 mustang, its cool it happens, so op good run you are the superior driver!! I dont know about the Cobra guys but I bought my Shelby from a 5.0 owner. The dealership I bought it from owns a ton of 5.0's.

They wouldn't post the fastest times because from a "marketing" stand point, or how you put it. They would have a hard time selling a GT500 when a 5.0 runs similar or a few tenths off. The GT500 has serious traction issues and people like us understand that. From the perspective of most potential gt500 buyers (old white men who love getting the best deal) they wouldn't get it. Same thing happened with the buick and chevrolet. When the GNX was owning the shit out of the vette during 1/4 mile tests, chevrolet had to hide the video and downgrade the buick GNX. They would rather sell vettes over a buick.
