End of 4th at 7k RPM's is about 120-123 MPH with the 3.31's, had the option at the dealer to get the 3.73's but gas mileage was a factor and my daily commute is around 25 miles each way on the interstate. figured opting for the 3.73's might only give me a 1/10th at the 1/4 mile if that.
Let him live, he's in heaven. A thread about a 5.0 and ZL1, the two new cars he hates the most lol.

While that may very well be a legit statement, I wasn't coming in here to bash the 5.0 this time. I actually was giving the OP props.
Hard to believe and out of character for me, I admit..but alas, this time, that was the case.
I don't care if it's a Ford Tempo, I'm happy anytime anything beats a ZL1. 5.0, 4.6, Cobra, SVO, somebody's Mom's hand-me-down Camry...I don't care. :rockon::beer:

The zl-1's just arent as fast as their hp lets on. Its crazy, they seem to only trap ~112-to maybe 115's high end with the occasional track star going faster. My stock 12 5.0 trapped 112.7, that was with a very inefficient shift in to 5th at the traps.:shrug:
This is one of those sucker match ups for bench racers, the zl1's just dont represent in stock form. Its surprising how slow they are for the hp they make. That combined with the OP's highly likelihood of knowing how to dance a M6 better then average made for a not so surprising outcome in my book.

anything can happen on the street. but with having driven a zl1 , and i have a 5.0 ill have to respectfully disagree .
Theyve got more than 3-400lbs on a 5.0, they're closer to 600lbs heavier
