The ZL1 isn't overhyped. Everyone knows it stands no chance against a 13+ Shelby. But when people start saying a atock 5.0 can take one, or even run with one I call B.S.

How is GM still far behind? You do know the Corvette exist right? Or are you purposely trying to ignore that part? The C7 stingray is such a superb car on so many levels, it almost embarrasses the 13-14 GT500... So... what is Fords answer?

The way your car sits I have no doubt in my mind you can smack a stock ZL1 around. Trust me im far from crazy for ZL1s. I would NEVER buy one. The only thing I like about the car is its exterior and engine. The interior is hideous.
But, these cars are underestimayed more than overestimated by Ford fanboys. They're faster than fanboys would like to believe.
poor 'ol Cobra just gets drug into so many discussions about current fast cars.
i seriously would hope newer cars, especially new supercharged V8 pony cars, would be able to best a stock Cobra. really, what's the point if you can't?
the Vette VS Mustang debate isn't a worth while cause as far as i'm concerned. there's simply too much difference separating them for a good direct comparison. i would see the Ford GT as a comparison / competition for the Vette. .... sadly, it's not around for us to compare :nonono:

Here's a video of a stock ZL1 racing a 5.0 Mustang with sone boltons. He atleast has exhaust. The ZL1 only traps 112. Using the logic on some on here a 13 5.0 should trap higher. Especially a modded one.
This is a prime example of my earlier comment that I said if a ZL1 traps 112, a 5.0 isn't gonna trap the same. Bad conditions effect both cars equally.

I dont think for a second that a Cobra being slower stock for stock than a new top of the line ZL1 that costs 60k is somehow pathetic. But some people actually believe the ZL1 runs 14s and is slower than any Mustang ever produced.

Well first of all I meant that if the ZL1 is affected so will the Mustang. Many of these arguments are based off of one car's crappy runs and another's hero runs, as if only one of them is affected by bad conditions.
But there are many variables to this, and lots of supercharged cars will be affected more than N/A cars. IATs will spike alot higher on blown cars causing the computer to pull tons of timming as the motor is a lot more suceptible to detonation. Especialyy with smaller blowers that create too much heat to begin with.

The reason for comparing the ZL1 to the Shelby is obvious..it's always been Mustang vs. Camaro. Well, except for when GM threw in the towel after '02. Then there was a period of darkness where Chevy had the Corvette and......and......, well they had the.......uh......*BIG ASS CRICKETS*. Yeah, that's right. You're welcome.
Oh, and the C7? No thanks. Ass looks like shit and I highly prefer the C6.

FORD GT? From 2005? It's 2013 about to be in 2014... The ZR1 spanks the FORD GT @ fraction of the price and according to the Nurburgring times, the z06 carbon edition does too... please try again. I love the FORD GT and I wish ford would bring it back, but they haven't and as of right now they won't.
GM is not only ahead of its time, it is running with the heavy hitters (Ferrari, GTR, Porsche, and Mercedes). Look up how well the ZL1 spanked the C63 AMG Black and a few other track cars at the VIR during C&D's test runs. Ford on the other hand, bless its little heart is hanging back. Dodge, at least has the new introduced Viper which broke the record around the VIR if I am not mistaken. So before you ride off on your "FORD IS THE BEST" fan bus, understand one thing; between the big 3 and who is the almighty, ford is behind several folds.
You don't have to like the C7. But it's too bad every car review show and magazine has said otherwise. Hell, even TopGear UK called it superb...
I’m not taken anything away from Mustang, because the mustangs serve a purpose and I love the car, but I think that cobra of yours is causing you to say things purely on ignorance.

Just to clarify the ZL1 only beat everyone at VIR because it had slicks. GM does not tell you that.
I wouldn't say it embarrasses it, it still traps 10mph stock to stock

I probably should haven't had said "Embarrass" it, you're right. But for the gap in power it sure does perform well.
Don't think I'm trashing talking mustangs, I love them; they're amazing cars, but this whole trash talk about the ZL1 is a little crazy. Obviously there is competition but at least look at the numbers. Give credit where it is due, the ZL1 is a performer. The C7 Stingray is a beast and I won't even talk about the z28, z06 or ZR1 until they hit the streets. But get your butt hurt cream out...
As far as looks and turning heads? This is my experience. Im a mustang guy. when I see a terminator on the road which is rare here, I have to turn and just stare. Its a timeless look and ford nailed it. It will never die out.
10 years went by already. People still give me the thumbs up. I even get people who have no clue about cars ask me what kind of mustang is that? is that a 2013? This car is awesome.
I was at a local hang out last week with the car. I was parked next to a white 2012 5.0. Everyone asked me questions about my car and people were hovering over it like it was an exotic. The 03 cobra is not a special car, its not the best, and its not gods gift. I AM NOT BRAGGING. I am just giving you my experience. My cobra which has a stock appearance minus the black rims, drew in more people than a brand new 5.0. It is what it is.
we all have different tastes. To me, the cobra looks way better. and if there dropped, its game over. That's just me. If the 5.0 looked better, I would have sold the cobra. Not hating here.
