Taken 3 cold showers so far, definitely cuts down on my time spent showering in the mornings. Also they leave me feeling much more "awake" than a traditional warm shower. I can't notice any other benefits yet, but will continue and see what happens.

I'm guessing you don't flog the dolphin in the shower anymore.

Hmmmm. I just stumbled across this thread. I may give a crack at it since I am one that takes BLISTERING Hot showers where the steam is so thick inside the bathroom. I been doing this all my life. So, this challenge will be nothing less of just that for someone like me. Oh Boy...

I'm the same way. Tried a cold shower last night.

****. That.

10 feet from the bathroom I've got a big ass water heater that was heavy as shit to bring up the stairs and a pain in the ass to hook up. I didn't do all that so I could freeze my ass off after a long day's work.

Done 2 now. Problem I'm having is breathing. Just feels like it takes my breath away

Yea, I wouldn't be surprised if someone somewhere will pass out in the shower an break their neck doing this.

The trick is to breath, relax and accept the cold water for at least 2 minutes, (I'm up to 4-5). If you stay tense, jump around and get out in 30 seconds will just feel cold and uncomfortable.

Careful taking a ice cold shower after a hardwork. I heard of a teen who died of a heart attack when he hit the showers after a school basketball game.

If you feel dizzy even for a second, stop. Do it gradually over time, (after talking to a doctor first :lol1:).

Nice. If you don't get anymore benefits, nothing lost. It's just a cold shower.

Do it when it's zero degrees outside or lower, you will not make it 30 days, I promise.

It was minus 5 here in IL the first day I did it.

The wind chill will be in the single digits tomorrow morning when I take my cold shower. I can't say it will make a huge difference, it's 70 degrees in my house. The water is frigid cold though.

On that note, this winter has ****ing SUCKED.

Mission failed on day 22, haha. At the McCormick place for a show in Chicago, had a 14 hour day, went drinking after the show, slept like crap in the hotel, took a long hot shower the next morning.

Oh well. I will still try to continue cold showers, but there will be exceptions.

Anyone else give this a real attempt?

I'm on day 8. I freaking love it. I've noticed myself become more energized, going to work is easier, and I am working out more. the cold shower is the reward after a good work out.

Staying with it, no matter what!

I always take cold showers from may-august. Just start cool and after about 60 seconds crank it all the way cold. Its a Very refreshing shower. In the winter months i take warm showers but crank it cold for about a minute before i get out

Well, despite my earlier sarcasm, I'm on day 8 and still with it. Not liking it though. I really don't see the point. It isn't comfortable and after a workout it doesn't ease the muscles like a warm shower.

Not impressed. Unfortunately for me though, once I start something I just have to finish it. :-D

I feel all of those benefits.

MIND = BLOWN, Why don't we take cold showers since it has so much more benefits? - Bodybuilding.com Forums

It feels better after a workout, it also makes it easier.

lol, admirable! I gotta admit, if I felt no benefits there's no fricken way I'd take continue taking cold showers. For me, it makes a small subtle difference, just enough to be worth doing.

I wish I wouldn't have found this thread.
