Does anybody else think the 5.0 'Coyote' doesn't sound very good?

Muffler after the axle will do that. Doesn't give the exhaust any chance to self resonate and mellow out before exciting like the Muffler location a fox/sn chassis does.

The coyotes all sound raspy to me. Most 5.bros like it though. Nothing beats a good ol 2v with a good setup.

a lot it has to do with the firing order of the coyote, its not traditional. in fact its exactly like the old flathead v8.

this is mine. UPR ORX and borla attacks. i get compliments from chevy and mopar guys all the time. its all subjective but i like it.

4vs sound the best imo. Very unique sound. My old car had a GREAT sound. I've yet to hear a coyote (s550 specifically) that I think sounds GOOD, except Sinister04Ls. Hopefully I can change that

That's a 5.2 flat plane crank.....

It's a high/free revving motor with a completely different power and torque curve compared to a coyote hahaha of course it's going to sound different

I've said this many times. Nothing beats the sound of the 2v. Everybody on 6g talk about the buying the car for the sound, but I just don't like the sound of the Coyote. Honestly I don't think the Cobra exhaust sounded good but it was great from the front.

I always thought its the high compression of the engine causing the raspy sound. It really doesn't bother me as long as it makes power. My ls2 was also raspy sounding. Just cant get that deep throaty sound anymore with the later models.

This , and firing order ,make all the difference.

The best example I can tell you , is the Ford V10, vs, Dodge V10 .
The Ford uses a balance share , so as to be able to use a standard firing order, where as the Dodge uses a non conventional , firing order.

I have a Super Duty , V10 manual trans , with Magna flow mufflers and stock cat.
Neighbor has a Dodge V10 , same set up , still way different sound.

What sounds good to you is obviously a personal preference, but I love the sound of my car :)

I love the sound of the coyotes....I don't think my 3v sounds good...with any exhaust

Get some Ford Racing FR500S mufflers like I have. They came stock on the GT500KR and I think they sound fantastic on my car.

To me, it's hard to beat a 2v with magnaflow x and CB like my 1996 had. I can't just much on the 5.0 since I'm running stock exhaust. I like it though...for stock anyway.

Mufflers in the rear have to do a lot. IMO the 3V sounds like crap, my friend removed his rear mufflers and added some in the middle on his 3V, sounded a million times better.

Im sure its the same case with the 5.0 Its an improvement over the 3V but doesnt sound that great. Like others said, it has a very raspy sound.
