The green belt sucked on mine.

A plain old Autozone duralast belt in 99.4" absolutely kicked ass on mine. Fixed it right up.

Yea but you also swapped rear end gears for slower revving, in turn making it easier for the belt to grab the paxton pulley.

I'm picking up some OEM 3.15 gears from a local that has 2k miles on them from his auto 14 before he swapped. I'm sure that will alleviate any belt slip issues myself, but it would be nice to feel the 3.73 gears without slipping before I change... I think the blue belt would make it grab. Just unsure if a 97.5" is going to slip on. And it's a $58.58 belt from rockauto lol

Great info guys, great thread, at the moment i dont have any belt slip issues with my torque booster 3.33 green 100 inch belt, and thats with 4:10's and a tremec, which is equivalent to an mt-82 and 3:31's...

I have played with so many combos of belts its ridiculous,

there is no belt outside of the 100" green getting the system tighter without "topping out" the tensioner. the goal is to get the belt as tight as possible without it topping out.

I have never seen in person a properly installed setup slipping.

the reason for the green belt is it doesn't stretch like the stocker, my old 2014 shop car is still grudge racing in Alabama, about 12000 miles on the torque booster with the same green belt that was on it since we designed the torque booster, car has done nothing but get quicker with fine tuning over the last year

not saying you can't get slip, but the 3.33 should be a pretty solid setup with the 100" belt

I've seen 2 or 3 guys in here say something and I have probably 150 of these out there running

This blue belt is supposed to have even less stretch than the green one. I've tried just about everything to solve my weird issue. Not 100% sure mine is slip either but its the only explanation that makes sense. Belt installation seems pretty straight forward...making sure all the grooves are in and it's tight so I'm pretty sure mine is installed correctly.

OP, I read that you have 3.73. I do also. Its already been told to be before hand since I have now joined the PAXTON Fam, dump the 3.73 (BEST FOR NA) for 2 reasons. 1.) to short of gearing will rob you of potential boost and powerband throughout. 2.) Potential issues with belt slip especially when dropping down from the stock 3.88 to 3.33. Reason being the motor wants to twist faster (from what I have read. Not my experience or quote) than what the blower can keep up in the lower range most of all. From my research, #1 choice is 3.31 gears are the sweet spot. Some have had luck with 3.27 gears. Then adding a tq booster...MONEY! Idk about those shorter belts. I would always run what is recommended by Vendors via manufactures imo. They have done the R&D for the most part.

I used to have belt problems all the time on my other mustangs/trucks. Knocked the stop tab off my tensenior so it could flex more and I could put on smaller belts. I tried green belts, blue belts, black belts, sticky spray etc. I just came to the conclusion to change my belt 2-3 times a year at the very least.

Then I finally figured out the best solution...

Turbo

With all the options checked off and exhausted... That pretty much hits it on the head. I have seen countless Paxton/Vortex guys go turbo. Thing is, they do it pretty fast and shortly after owning the Centrifugal for only a couple months. weird. Just got mine buttoned up and I am enjoying it as is but already making plans to lay down more power. Guess that is where the head aches will start.

V3 with a 6 rib and 3.33 and wastegate for the win.

Or if you are hell bent on a 800+whp centri its a Paxton 2200 with same pulley but 8 rib is mandatory.

and what belt? Since that seems to be a tosss up issue between black, green and blue, 100" or less? (Paxton 2200sl)

I have a V3, 6-rib, and 3.33 but still slips...or think it's slipping.

The gears are a real issue. If I remember right your car is 3.73s? Might be time to change.

Waiting for an update on this btw!

Followed your original Paxton thread and look forward to hearing about the on3.

And I have lots to tell.. lol. I just need to find some time to put together a thread about the on3 with some pics. Wont be as in depth as the Paxton thread but it will shine some light on real issues and some myths about the on3.

Cliffnotes... only 1 fitament issue (long story). Overall quality is a little better than "ok." SOme parts of the kit are better than others.

Mine should fire this weekend and theres even a TINY chance it hits the track sat or sun.

99.4". Tensioner was not bottomed out but close. It was a run of the mill Autozone black belt. It bit real good and the car HAULED ass the week before I sold the kit. Was getting a solid 10-11 psi with the tq booster.

well guys after having a lot of belt slippage I took gimmie11's advice cut the green belt OFF and replaced with a goodyear gator back 100" that isnt the belt he recommended but thats what my parts guy had. went out after installing runs great finally. Dont know how long the belt will last will post if it starts to slip again. Thanks again gimmie11's.

Nice! Just picked up a TQ Booster kit from Thomas/Blazer707@TBR w/3.33 pulley. I will not install it till all else is good to go and other issues (fuel system) is taken care of. Then, back on the dyno for ballz out gimme watcha got! ;) Thanks

Car was getting really flat power after 5500 6000 rpms and not hearing the gate open... its amazing how fast you start knowing your ride even when you add new parts. After 8 had time open the hood and belt dust and the belt looked worn out bad..
