Regular 350s, yeah I agree you might find one end of the model year. GT350R...much less likely IMO

Not every dealer will get an R, based on this and the great reviews(it being compared in performance to 100k sports cars) there will be a premium and most will sell for this premium because buyers have the cash.
However for the base GT350 any Ford dealer in the nation could have picked up an allocation for 1k fee. They will be everywhere. You should be able to get msrp. If you're still having trouble call a small dealer middle of nowhere offer msrp and if they say no offer to pay their 1k fee too. Win win for both dealer and buyer.

That's what I thought! So why are Ford dealers trying to bend us over for the GT350(R)s? I know there's all the hoopla that the GT350R can match a 991 GT3 [on one track and is as yet unconfirmed to be true through independent testing.] But let's not forget that the Z28 also tested favorably directly against the 991 GT3 at least twice. Remember these videos?

And the Z28 has even more performance goodies than the GT350R. But the Z28 is still a pig, though, so I have no doubt that the GT350R will outperform it on a road course.

EDIT:
That first video is a 997 GT3, but it's the RS version. So should still be about the same.

The GT3 is significantly faster on track than the z28.

And Ford dealers are not trying to bend you over. People with money that want performance are paying 80-90 for the R. That's the going value right now. Why take less when someone's paying more?

The Z28 MSRP was 75k parts bin car and they made much more than 500 (in 2015), dealers only had to discount them because they werent moving them. Simple supply and demand drove the prices down to market value to where ppl would actually buy the car. Its working the opposite way for the R. If no one was interested in the car (calling dealers like mad men), the dealers wouldnt be getting ADM for them. Will have to wait and see in a few months when they are sitting in show rooms to see what they really go for

First, there's a lot to be optimistic about. Ford is building the GT350 for Shelby and they invented the assembly line. I know they quoted production of 4000 GT350, which to me implies up to 1000 GT350R likely limited by Carbon Revolution's ability to churn out wheels. As CR gets competent at delivering high quality at scale, GT350R allocations will open up.

Second, Ford can make a lot more the 4000 GT350 if they want to. The boys in Detroit would love to run a 3rd shift and make some profits while the economy is hot. It can cool at any moment (though I believe we have 3+ good years left before a major pullback). If they sell out, they'll build more until there's a month of inventory on hand.

Third, a new GT500 will come to market and alleviate some of this pent up demand for the most amazing Mustang chassis ever built, something that should have been done about 12 years ago. The road and 1/4 mile guys will go for the GT500, while the track enthusiasts will keep their orders for GT350 and GT350R if you must "racecar".

If you are curious what's going on with similar sports cars, Circle Porsche in LA wants $50k over MSRP for a GT4. This is a joke because the 991 is a much better car, and the new 991.2 turbo cars are going to be outstanding.

It sure is! There's NO WAY I'd pay $130K+ for a Cayman GT4 when I could get a 991 GT3 for the same money!

Sure if you can find one at sticker. Lots of folks like to compare the R+ADM to a GT4, then the GT4+ADM to the GT3, then forget getting an GT3 at sticker aint easy either. Some dealers have USED GT3s marked up over original MSRP.

And with that being the case, it's painfully obvious that I will never own a GT350R. :cryying: I'm not paying an ADM, and I'm not buying a used one.

For an "R" I'd pay a couple grand ADM - but that's it. So I won't be seeing an "R" either. As far as used, I'd never say never - got my Terminator from a dealership where a spoiled rich kid traded it (and a loaded Lightning) on a new Hummer - it had <400 miles on it and was pristine. I'd take another used car like that.

I think I have a plan. I'm going to hold on to my penny satchel until mid-2016, then trade the Forester and S4 in for a Grand Cherokee Trackhawk Hellcat. That'll kill a bunch of birds with one stone (lux/perf/haul) and I'll just have to keep using my GT500 for tearing up the mountains. The gas bill is going to be brutal, though!

Bingo. Most GT3 stickered for over $145k. You don't see them used for less than $140k. This should change when the RS comes out and another 991R model to take the place of the cheaper GT3.

I've contacted just about every dealer in California asking about the Shelby and the possibility to order one for MSRP. No luck so far. I was told 50% over MSRP, $25K over, lottery, waiting list is full, etc... Really bums me out 'cause I don't want to wait 'til next year but it looks as though I will have to. Ugh!

Unlikely. 991 RS is legitimately trading at $100k+ over MSRP. I know a very, very lightly optioned basic 991 RS that sold for $135k over MSRP. With that kind of gap, I don't see base GT3 dropping too much. Even if the gap between MSRP and market drops by 75%. The 911 R is gonna be total unobtanium as well. Maybe the worst of all relative to it's MSRP.

Agreed, the GT3 RS is already out as well carrying huge ADMs as well. Essentially investors cars at this point with how well the 997 GT3 RS is doing in terms of value

Ferrari is supposed to increase production by 30% to appease Wall Street. That should soak up some douche bag money. Clearly VW needs the money and it sounds like hundreds of millions is going to dealers in markup fees. I have a feeling they'll ramp up the factories.

I'm about to bite the bullet. I found a couple dealers who would sell a 350 for 10k over. I know it's awful but I want the car. The only thing I love about the R (which I can't find at all) is the rims. I don't race so the 350 works fine for me. Delivery will be end of this year I'm told. I'm driving 300 + miles in the morning to put down a deposit.
