I don't know Kumar but I hear positive things. Smart guy, doesn't take any shit.

I'll say it again that there's a lot of smart and talented people at Ford. Alan Mulally's greatest achievement was not manufacturing related; it was related to his ability to eliminate the culture of corporate backstabbing, implement a team environment and clearly set and achieve team goals for formerly competing individuals. Minus strong leadership of this nature, bad things are destined to happen. Quickly.

Man DBK = Boogie man. He is scaring the crap out of me lol. Lets just hope the crème rises to the top and Ford doesn't leave us behind. I have owned nothing but fords and come from a ford family, so it will be sad if they do get out of the performance game. I guess I will just keep my 09 GT500 for now and see how it shakes out.

At first I wasn’t interested at all in the new 500 and was keeping my 14 no mater what. Then when the new one was teased I was definitely interested and the dishwasher approved.

Now it looks like by the time I can buy one with no adm it will be 2020 or later??
Dafuq are they really doing with this car??

Bruno,

It will be five years in April that I have had my 2014 (14,500 enjoyable miles.) It was ordered and delivered in April 2013. If I get another Mustang, it will be a daily driver GT and the GT500 will stay in my possession. There aren't too many cars out there that are better than this car for the money. And this one is just about paid off. So...there is nothing wrong with continuing to own a 2013/2014 GT500. This group alone is exclusive in itself.

Amen Pete.

I’m just gonna enjoy my car and put the new one out of my mind.

Yep, the '13-'14 GT500 is a heck of a car, and the resale values confirm that.
It was a pretty hard choice for me, choosing the new 350 over a clean 500. In the end, the roads I deal with here and how I would use the car meant the 350 was the better choice (I came out of a '14 GT with suspension mods).

I can only imagine what a car the GT500 is going to be in the new platform. I love my 350 too much to really worry about it right now. Even with "only" 500+ HP, it puts a huge smile on my face when I drive it, every single time.

Jamal has made a name for himself with how he has handled all the SVT projects hes worked on and led. Ford would be wise to put him line for Ford Performance chief.

Neither Hermann or Jamal would ever be appropriate to do the job Pericak had. I don't say this as a negative. I don't really think that job will exist again in the near future anyways. It might, but it isn't looking like it now.

You can't be sending Hermann the German to NASCAR races in Alabama.

Having met Jamal a few times, and some of the things I’ve heard about him, I completely agree.

And I don’t mean this in a bad way, just he would not be the right person for the job, like you said.

*yawn*

Game of Thrones you said?

More like Game of Thrones mixed with the snail-pace of Walking Dead.

Your fired! Whats your name? Your fired!
I agree...not good marketing strategy. We're all falling asleep.

The number of posts in this and many other threads disprove that. It's just frustration from prolonged anticipation.

... Then you have some clown say "Venom Kills Demons". Let me address that statement. A Demon with Race Gas is Dyno'd at 780bhp to the wheels. Not crank. Wheels. Explain to me how the GT500 us going to "KILL" that.

...

The Demon weighs +/-4300 pounds in its lightest configuration. Now let's address how not one other person has replicated Dodge's 9.65 run with a stock Demon. It's a 10+ second car in anything other than PERFECT conditions. Who really believes a 4300 lbs car with "only" 840HP is going to consistently run 9s?

I think i'd breathe a huge sigh of relief so we can all move on with our lives!

You might be taking this release way too seriously, if it's holding up your life. LOL

+1 don't forget the new Raptor, GT, RS. Ya Ford's done nothing since the 2014 GT500.

Many believe Ford did nothing between the '04 Cobra and the '13 GT500. Apparently the '07 thru '12 GT500s were huge piles of crap not worth buying, mentioning, or remembering.

That would be awesome, but doesn't Torque News have the same credibility as Horsepower Kings?

I've always thought it makes sense to sell the two cars side-by-side because they are not the same car. I think an update GT350R with a DCT, about 50 more hp, and a few other tweaks would be one of the great track cars ever built.

...

A 576HP DCT GT350R would be nice for sure, but can they even squeeze another 50HP out of the Voodoo without forced induction? It seems pretty tightly tuned as it is.

DBK, that was good seeing you voice the concerns you did regarding the trolling a week back. To the extents applicable, thanks for commenting on the nature of that situation.

Back to this car, and it’s voodoo cousin, the voodoo has plenty of potential. It’s still mildly cammed for the application. It would have even less low low end tq, but if peak power was carried out to 8200rpm instead of the current 7500, there’s an easy 50hp. It would have more average power as well from 5000-8200rpm. They could also stretch it to 8500 at that point and really level the last 300rpms almost flat. The 5.2 cpc ford racing na mill makes 580hp iirc for comparison.

Gt500 wise, if it happens, which at this point I’m expecting a cancellation honestly, I foresee something profitable but not necessarily enthusiast driven. Heavy as in 3850-3950lbs, luxurious ie an optional auto, some upgraded stereo or seats etc, pretty capable straight line fast with options to make it above average in bends and twisties. I don’t see it keeping pace with a zl1 1le unless you option in a $5-10k handling and aero package.
