My dad has a black Cobra and it's a lot of fun.

I know you provided the details before, but would you mind sharing them again please? Beautiful Cobra, btw.

It's a Backdraft, I think it was put together in 2015/6, 427....

Thing is wicked quick. It's not practical by any means, I think my ACR is more practical as a driver; but you get all kinds of looks when you drive it. Rear end gets pretty squirrel-ly under acceleration.

Backdraft makes a good car from what I remember. What are your thoughts on fit and finish?

Personally I’d go viper or gt3. Though I want a car for the track so that’s why I say that.

However why not take the zr1 to the road course and see if you still find it so meh

I saw a Cobra go past me on the way home from work last week. Dark gray metallic with burgundy stripes, sounded amazing, about snapped my neck watching it go by.

Hell, you want uncomfortable buy a gen 2 viper that has boost. IMO its a far more desirable gen than the new ones, will be the long term classic for holding value. And yea. They're uncomfortable but still fun. I've been around more of them than I can count but NEVER in a boosted one, you seem to love raw power and I can not think of a better 2door, loud, obnoxious, uncomfortable car than that.

A Gen 2 Viper with boost is an absolute blast. They actually are not that uncomfortable, especially if it is just your weekend fun car. To be honest it is actually one of the most comfortable cars at 100+ mph I have ever driven.

If you do ever drive a boosted Gen 2, be careful they can get out of hand in a hurry!

I had not heard of them before but the Superlite GTR has me in awe. The looks of a ford gt and capability to toss what ever motor you really want in it. Then go out and just have fun on the track.

In cali since the slingshot is a 3 wheeled vehicle it can go on the carpool lane with a single passenger. I think you need to wear a helmet though. I wonder if carpool lane law is the saw in Illinois?

I feel like the sling shot is going to be ho hum after a few days of use. Also I wonder what resale is like for it when you decide to dump it off.

I still think you should at least hit one track day with the vette before making final judgement.
