Come on, when a bolt-on Cobra hangs or just barely gets edged by a bolt-on C6 Z06 it's nothing but 4 pages of crying from the LSX owners, it goes both ways!!

In this case I think the GT500 would have lost either way..All I brought up is the fact the Z06 stole the hit in every single race and the GT500 seemed to let off early after he got pulled on. I'd liked to have seen a clean run.

I'm not too sure why you're all hung up about it anyways. Wasn't it your friends car?:shrug: Nobody is taking anything away from your friends Corvette C6 Z06. Dude they have an Aluminum body structure, and Carbon-fiber composite front fenders, front wheelhouses and floors. And for 70k I sure would hope it can beat a mid 40k Mustang. prices Our cars are a 6 cylinder shell with a large engine in them. NOT a purpose built race car like the 800lb lighter, almost 6'' lower Corvette Z06. Now lets talk nitrous. Your friends 150 shot probably added what 80-110 rwhp, but how much torque did it add??????? I would bet LOTS. And for said lighter/lower car to be faster when he jumps the gun at 60mph is only natural. Ford GT=Z06 :bash:

BTW your car is also sick I have seen a few vids of it! Didn't you run a nitrous at one time also?

yeah for 2 yrs. it made a decent amount of power. nothin to crazy though, but it sure did beat a 800-900 cobra, but its not about my car in this thread. take a wild guess who's cobra it was?:-D actually i'll give you a hint. he owns a chevy now and its SILVER:D

hey i'm all for anything can happen on the street, but in this circumstance, i'm a witness to the races that happened in this thread, and im absolutely positive that THIS Shelby needs more power to hang or even pull THIS Z06.

i'm a lsx owner and you don't see me crying in the links you provided because at the end of the day i know how MY car runs

i'm not all hung up, i'm just amazed on how people are in denial about the race. in this circumstance my buddy bought his car for 44-45k used:thumbsup: he was thinking about a Shelby but decided the vette was a better bang for the buck. :-D

now lets not talk about a Ford GT that costs more than twice the price of a Z06 but still manages to pull the GT.

what ppl have a hard time understanding is that when you make THAT much power, whether it be a 700whp cobra or a shot Z, triple digit speeds are reached incredibly fast, this is where the Z shines and all its advantages start to show, aeros, gearing, and weight... the combination of those three are extremely hard to match. i can see why they raced from that speed, hell ive seen STOCK Zs have trouble hooking at slower speeds

i heard the GT500 get on it, and yeah it was slighty late, but was more than enough to tell the tale...

well i think both posts about the FGT are kinda lame...one was a lightly modded Zo6 against a stock FGT and god knows what the other one is on the drag strip... who cares about drag b/c thats all driver, one of the driver could have been horrible and one a pro racer? the next race a stock LS3 could have beaten the FGT, who cares

Yup as there were forum members that were a witness to those cars and how they run. They're not crying either because they know how their cars run. :shrug: Anyone could say that at the end of the day.

Z is one bad ass car no doubt.

Although to be fair, these highway rolls are basically further giving the advantage to the already faster car. I can't think of a more advantageous place for you to start a race against that car.

Basically, you give up the only advantage you have, solid axle/super bottom end torque (I doubt he would spray 1st on the street). The fact is though, it takes a supreme amount of power in any modern mustang to be able to outpull a C6Z when we start talking highway speeds. The Zs gearing is matched perfectly with it's powerband.


I think the Shelby is pretty nice too, but I would have someone take a look at the dyno hes on... With 603rwhp SAE I went 131mph out the backdoor in my 03 cobra vert (probably within 100-200lbs of your Shelby Coupe). You have 734RWHP and are only going 130? Either the dynojet is unloaded, you were heatsoaked at the track, or you dynoed on a loaded dyno someone where the correction factor is being messed with.

I don't mean that as an insult, because I'm sure your car is more then capable of making that much power and more, but I would definitely check to see if anything has changed with your car since your dyno run to now, as your track numbers don't match your power output.


*Edit* I see you found some fouled plugs... That may be where your long lost power is. Replacem and lets find out!

Although, if you take out a couple hundred lbs of weight, you will spank the NOS C6Z.

kind of sad, if you could only pull me 2 cars with 300rwhp more :lol: and you really thought you had a chance against a spraying Z06:lol:

fact is Chris, for the amount of power your car has, it should be faster. you can have 850hp and still lose to a Z06 on nitrous.

Edit: how the **** am i talking shit? unless you really think you had a chance against the Z06 on nitrous, in which case you need to get your head out your ass, and come back to reality, and realize a Z06 on nitrous is faster than your car. which is exactly what happened in the video in this thread.
