Just registered so I can explain some things that are wrong with this thread.

1. Fast Old guy started a bunch of crap a few months ago on our board. He immediately started claiming how a stock GT500 is faster than a stock M6. Fine, it very well may be in the 1/4 mile or even further. I doubt beyond 1/4 mile it is faster, but that is always up for discussion.

2. We know our cars are not the fastest cars out there. We didn't buy M5's M6's because its the fastest car on the planet. It is an exclusive car that is fun to drive in the curves, fun to drive at high speeds and luxurious. There are also not that many driving around and we find a sense of enjoyment for driving it every day.

3. A 700hp+ GT500 will walk all over any M5/M6 that is not heavily modified...we know that. The whole thing was based off the only reason he came to the board is to talk shit and never provide video's or do any type of race...AT ALL. Just all talk same as this thread he started. All talk no proof.

4. StreetKing a member on our forum has multiple exotic cars and willing to race FastOld guy and even called him out on the forum to do it, but like usual he is all talk. StreetKing has a Supra that ran the 1 mile at 241.8 mph...link [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PUyf3g5AkI0&fmt=18"]YouTube- SW's Boost Logic supra 241.8mph Tx Mile[/ame]

He also has many different exotics and willing to race him with any of them.

5. Msizzle is by far NOT the fastest M6 on the East coast. That has to be a joke. He has simple bolt on mods that anyone can do. There is a twin turbo G-power M6 in Orlando putting down over 750 WHP (NBA player actually). Yes, it cost a lot more than the Cobra, but its not about the money like said above.

6. If we wanted to buy a GT500 we could...obviously. I have a ZR1 as well as my M6 and the ZR1 kills it in most every aspect. Yes, I still love the M6 but it is more "exclusive" and exotic when I drive it than the ZR1. Honestly no one even can tell the difference in my ZR1 and a regular corvette when I drive the streets except for car fanatics.

7. Fast old guy comes on to the forum telling us how much money he makes and probably more than us. Honestly I don't care, we don't care. No one needs to get defensive on how much they make. Someone always makes more than you...same with cars, someone is always faster. That just proves my point further however. If he makes more money than all of us and "more than what we pay in taxes" LOL LOL LOL then it is more about personal decisions and driving an M6 over a mustang, or a mustang over an M6 makes sense. More about the experience and preference than speed!

I think the best way to settle this is have Fastold guy run StreetKing with the car of Fastold guys choice and video. Many have requested to race, but Fast old guy will not respond to PM's or posts. Settle this with proof instead of trying to start more crap and more talk.....gets old.

I am a car enthusiast and appreciate the GT500...might even buy one to have in my stable. I am not here to bash you guys just clear some things up. I would love to not have disagreements about who is faster who is slower etc. Seems childish to me, just run and be done...maybe sometime we can all get together for some beer and have a good time

well put except as for your 1st post, the '10 M6 and the '10 GT500, the GT500 is quicker in the 1/8, 1/4 half mile and mile events. not like anyone is racing to 168mph on the streets anyways

btw your streetking member, is he really SW?

I have seen several different numbers for stock GT500 and M6 runs. Mostly the 1/8 and 1/4 the GT500 will edge the M6 out or be even. Past that the M6 pulls. Most stock M6's will hit the limiter at 165 in the mile event. Chipped M6's with basic tune and limiter removed will do 174+. Hard to do a limiter removal without tuning something. Either way like I said its debatable and can depend on the driver:rolling:

Yes, Streetking is Sriyantha Weerasuria..well known in the supra community I assume. However he does have an impressive stable full of other exotics and nice cars. If you go over to the M board you can see where he is active there with us and posts quite often. So Fastold guy has a real race if he is up to it:banana:

Nice spin. OK here are the facts. Sorry about the long post but it is needed.

Msizzle [modded] shot a video pulling a 600 whp GT 500 convincingly. Now mind you this Shelby guy owned this car less than a week . Msizzle went to great pains to tell the M6 owners how great of driver [new to him] Shelby driver was. The "experienced" driver burned the stock tires badly on the video. The mods on this supposedly "600 whp" Shelby was a pulley/CAI/and a canned tune. I went to M5 point out that those mods more commonly produce about 510-530 and not 600whp. That was met the the typical snobbish elitist comments that you can now see in the current thread in question. Things like, rustang, wheels falling off, can't go over 120mph, Fat Pigs [the M6 weighs more] fit and finish of a toy car, you can't afford a M6, Fix Or Repair Daily etc. etc. etc.. I responded with ration and facts without insults well almost none. Also if you read Msizzles thread be sure you look at the insults BEFORE I every posted a word.

My car had not been dyno'd yet and I told them it would be dyno'd in November which I did and you can see the Dyno sheet in my sig. I told them I would try to get a video also. Unfortunately the fastest BMW that I could find was a friend's modded E39 M5. I videoed a race and posted the here on SVT and there on M5 on the E39 forum.. It was just to give a reference point only to show what a twin screw can do and the video isn't great quality but needless to say the E39 lost badly. The E39 crowd was very cool by the way there are no elitist in that group just nice guys like here not like in the M6 crowd I have posted on several threads much like guys who own other makes of cars post on here.

The other day a M6 wanted to race me on the way back back from Dallas through Los Colinas a M6 came up from behind and matched speed and tried to get me to race. I had just driven the same road 2hrs before and saw two cops working traffic. I shook my head no and the M6 driver smiled sped off probably doing 85 or more. About 2-3 miles ahead I passed him pulled over by the police. I posted it on the M5 site because I thought it was interesting. BTW I previously raced and beat a what I believe to be stock M6 up to around 150 when my car was at 540whp and I would have loved to see what 712 whp would do.

I invite you to go to M5 and read the comments. Ask yourself who first challenged who to a race. Who insulted which car and which car owner. Who said anything about money first. Who tried to post facts about each car. I would encourage you to also look up the other thread posted by Msizzle and read their responses there also. I have never ONCE insulted the M6 because it is a great car just not as fast as a 2010 Shelby in the 1/4 mile 11.95 vs on VIR road race course 3.05 or 3.07 vs 3.10 or in a standing one mile dig. I never claimed my car can beat Boost Logic Supra running 35-40 psi. Its a FI Supra not a NA M6. I do think its funny that they look down their noses at FI vs NA but want a super boosted Supra to run me when we are talking NA M6s.. I do think my car can hit 200mph in an unknown distance and I think it could beat Msizzle's [modded], MCabrio's or BadM6's [modded] cars that first said they could beay my car.. I tried to PM BadM6 for a race but their site runs like its on a Commador 64 server and the pm system would not accept my pm so I put my response in a post to BadM6. No response from him though. I wouldn't mind racing Streetkings stroker M6 in a 1/4 mile dig and I am not sure if my car could take it because the Stroker is awesome engine. It would be fun to see though. I'll admit I not wild about my car going 200mph on a public road though. I'd prefer to run on a 1/4 mile track then at the Texas mile for safety sake.

And trust me or ask 03Cobrarocks to verify I could easily pick up a new M6 if I wanted one butI like American muscle.. :)

I never agreed to race a Supra but your ZR1 should be a lot of fun lose or win.Loser buys the beer,

The Fastest STOCK M6 in I can find is 162 mph the limiter remove. A member here ran his STOCK 2010 GT 500 ran 168 per Gps in one mile limiter removed.

MM&FF ran at 2010 GT 500 11.95 stock and a member here ran 12.02 bone stock. The fastest M6 stock that I have seen was 12.3. [See fastest Shelby list]

I like to say its proven which is faster.

BYW if you have some proof that the M6 runs faster than 11.95 or 162 stock then please post them because I have not found them.

wow... bunch of elitist pricks over there, m's are awesome cars but you can't buy a personality. I'm gonna go cry over how sad and pathetic my cobra is because each of those guys can obviously buy 6 of them for the same price. (is that supposed to be impressive?) kudos to fastoldguy for shutting them down with cold hard facts. drag SW's M6 down the track  notice how he didnt offer that up... :fart: Unbelievable that all of those guys have that hard of a time comprehending what your OP was about.

wow. just read through the M boards and this thread. am pooped. thats the problem with most enthusiast websites imo. quite narrow minded. a true enthusiast appreciates all makes n models. one of the problems i have with some folks on here. if it doesnt go fast in a straight line, its meaningless:bored:. sad if u ask me.

OK, your proof is enough to convince me. I had not seen official numbers of stock GT500's run under 12's. That is impressive on street tires. I think the M6 is much better of a car from a roll. Off the line it's kind of a dog lol. The low torqe is made up with the high RPM band, but off the line the low tq rob's some take off power imo. I have hit my limiter of 165 with GPS proven speed in less than a mile (right at a mile, but a little less). That is why I was saying it can be done. Maybe it's the driver, I don't know. Either way what you have shown may be enough to edge out the M, but two stock cars together would be a lot of fun to run around with since they have similar times everywhere.

Right now my ZR1 is stock. But I would like to buy the lingenfelter pulley package and a nice exhaust. I am in Washington DC and under what seems to be 5 feet of snow, but if I ever make it to the Texas mile I am up for a run. I love the sound of the supercharger, another reason why I would like to have a cobra or GT500. I have never been a turbo fan, but more of a supercharger fan. You will laugh but I used to own a Pontiac Grand Prix GTP with a Eaton M90 blower in 1997-2000. Lots of things done to that little car including headers, cam ,pulley, port and polished blower, P&P heads, exhaust, etc etc. That little V6 ran a 12.4@111 in the 1/4. It sucked at top speed, but a fun little car. I miss how loud the blower was in that car. It honestly was louder than the blower on a lightening it seemed.

By the way, I didn't try to spin anything. That was my view of what happened. Maybe I am wrong, I don't know. That is just how it came across. I think everyone has their side of any story. I think video's do prove to be a better "talk"

Sorry if it came off that way but I felt I was answering unfounded claims against the Shelby. "Fat Pigs" are like sisters...you can call them that but no one else better do it. :lol1: I never tried to insult the M6 because it is a very nice machine and I said so in Msizzles thread. Matter of fact I have recommended them to two colleagues of mine. They don't tinker like I do. Neither has bought anything yet but the M6 is on their to look at list. The Lingenfelter ZR1 would be stout....or stouter.:lol1: I'm considering picking up a Z06 when my son moves and and get his garage space back. [My wife will shoot me] I also have a twin turbo VR4 V6 with a laundry list of mods that at 20psi can hit high 11s. Anyway if BadM6 wants to race I'll get videos but I'll probably shut it down after I make my point because running 200 mph on a public road is beyond insane. Then if BadM6 wants to run at the Texas mile in October I'd be up for that. If you are ever through Dallas look me up and I will buy the beer. And stick around on SVT we are fun folks on here.

BTW Global warming has struck Dallas with 6 inches of snow and that is a lot for us I can't imagine the amout you guys have gotten.

Romaine supposedly has the fastest NA M6, as I stated earlier, on the East coast. He's a great dude and loves to push his car.

NYC I thought it might be. LOL What are his mods exactly.

Bolt ons, pullies, tuned. This is what has been disclosed afaik. He's usually more than willing to talk about his car.

I will take you up on that offer . I want to come to the Texas mile at some point just to see what the ZR1 can do. I might wait to see what else comes down the line soon though. I will be interested in seeing the new M5/6 with Twin Turbo and what it can do with the KERS boost and a simple tune. So who knows what I will bring. Maybe the wife can bring the new M5 (if they produce it any time soon) and I will bring the ZR1....that will be a long road trip lol.

Running 200 mph on public roads is a little crazy. I would only suggest that unless you knew the road and there was no possibility of crappy road conditions or side roads where people would come out. I do encourage you to race an M6 from a dig and a roll just to see what happens. I would like to see you murder him in a race just to prove yourself and then everyone can stop yelling back and forth lol. I don't think the race will be close, but at least you can have proof.

I love to race him where ever its safe..

I have got my eye on a built aluminum block from MMR for 1500+ applications and 8000 RPM. I'd like to run 23-24 psi out of my 2.9 Whipple right now cause I am only running 18psi.

There is also a new 372 aluminum stroker version of the Shelby 331. It makes 717 whp and 526 TQ normally aspirated. Slap a 4.0Whipple Crusher 4.0 on that and wow. But that might adversely effect the streetability and a long block is 30K. At some point you have to consider what you want to invest in a Shelby. :lol1:

Please contact me if you come to the Texas Mile we will go out for BBQ and beer my treat. Maybe we could caravan from Dallas to the TM.
