My car is in the shop for some pretty extensive upgrades. :uh oh: I'd really like to thank the entire Lethal Performance team for all the help they have given me over the past couple of days (not to mention the past year and a half), I promise not to let you guys down.
You guys know that I am a big fan of the ford shelbygt500 and have bought parts and support all our vendors.I just think the high goals you guys have set are going to be a expensive challenge.Good Luck,David
:loser: I have never hit the track with mine - I'm on the other side of the world from my car...no secret there. Of course, I already knew the answer and instead of throwing doubts at guys making our community a better place, I'd rather support them.
Doing new things to pave new roads is never easy or cheap, but that's not the point. It's hard and expensive to run 9's with an auto, and even more so to run 8's. I actually think it's not as expensive to run 8's with the 6 speed vs the auto, I just think it's more time consuming and some don't have the patience. We don't have the added expense of the automatic transmission, torque converter, trans swap kit, etc etc, we have just a clutch and a shifter.
Lmao Derek it wasnt a matter of couldn't its just a matter of didnt choose to go that route we ran a 9 with the stock blower 3 + years ago. We spent years researching and developing auto combo's that will make clients get deep in the 9's. The fact of the matter is you would have to put up 10 grand to make it worth while for us to put a auto back in the car , you wouldnt end of story. Hers an idea you think its so easy why dont you put an auto in there and go 8.8's. I will tell you why because keeping the 6 speed in your car makes it safe not to fail because noone hasgone 8's with 6 speed so if you dont do it you dont look bad. But if you put a auto in and dont run what we do ,hmm then you really look like a tool. Ford put an auto in the cobra jet for a reason!!!!!
LMAO at you Kent! You tell me who's gone faster in a six speed? You look like a fool thinking that anyone down here is going to fail. Just remember this, you have a shop, a dyno, and mechanics. The little "parts peddlers" from South Florida have accomplished things in a six speed that you guys never did!
Speaking of the Cobra Jet, Ford put a 4.0L Whipple in it for a reason!
You also look like a fool thinking that a majority of people are willing to spend $7,000 on a tranny swap just to go fast and completely kill the streetablity of the car. :nonono: For most of us these car aren't just race cars, they are street cars that we want to make fast and still keep them drivable on the streets. I have no interest in turning 4K RPM @ 70MPH on the highway. I also have no interested in losing my power steering, power brakes, and air condition. I like going fast and still enjoying the car.
Oh and I've gone faster than you with a six speed and all I have is a set of jack stands and a small craftsman tool box! :lol:

Mixxer, I think everyone takes their own route. You guys chose the Auto route and we are taking the 6-speed route. Both are great accomplishments in their own right.
Ford put an auto in the Cobra Jet because it's a factory RACE CAR!!!! How of those do you see on the Street....My guess is none. Probably how times we will see your 8.80 car on the street??? Not bashing...just saying!

Hey Jared. You guys should try to get a reality show. Lots a drama going on here....:coolman: Why are all of you trying to run 8's with a 6 speed ? You don't have anything to prove. Your cars run killer now. Especially for full body street cars. "Anyone car build a race car" Guarantee you if you stripped your car down now you could run as fast as Evo. Just drive your car and enjoy it. In the end. It'll all come down to who spends the most money and cuts their car up the most "wins" You dont want to cut that car up. Its too nice of a car. Its one of the fastest 6 speed in the world. Thats Awesome..:beer:

If we wanted to take the easy way to run an 8 we would have put an auto in the car. With a 1000+rwhp and an auto I'd hope you ran an 8 and of not there's a problem. No one is knocking your accomplishments as they are impressive. We just chose to go another route.
As far as Bradenton goes who showed up to Bradenton with a 6 speed and who didn't?
I recall us advancing 2 rounds while you guys got knocked out in the first.

Actually .. These are the "quickest" six speed cars in the country !
I have been 146.72 mph, which makes my car the number #2 fastest six speed ! ! (et was only 10.454) was having truble with the two step (sux) after the 146.72 pass I was asked to leave the track, as I have no saftey equipment in my car !
The mph gives a pretty good indication of the power the car makes .. ( important to some not others )
also keep in mind :
completely stock motor
stock tranny
stock clutch
stock rear
off the shelf kb stage 3 kit
no nitrous
single power adder..
.....and to date, I have less then 7 passes on the car !

That's nice you have all that stock stuff, but how are you 10+ mph faster with an out of the box Stage 3 kit than Andy S. (rdsnk46) who had a smaller upper, larger lower and custom tuning? I think the timing equipment may need a look over at your track ;-)

and your right the first to the stripe wins ..
