Come on, the guy who drives the new 5.0 owns the SS as well so I'm sure he has some experience with a gearbox. Also, roll races . . .
I'm sure the car needs to be broken in though.
Oh come on the guy didn't even know how to turn the traction control off. We all know more experience with a car usually yields better ET times.
C6s aren't overhyped. Untuned, the TM on LS2 pulls lots of timing once the engine gets heated. 6yrs ago back in '04, I watched an '05 C6 go from 110traps to 107traps in 5-6 runs. My C5 back then was doing 109mph consistently in a total of 5 passes. Take the TM off the C6 and it's a new ball game.

For the record some 01/02 LS1's came with a lid from the factory

Both runs looked pretty close to me.
Considering that the 5.0 had less than 20 miles on it and the dude didn't even know how to turn the traction control off, I'd say the results aren't bad.
LS1 Fbodies were low 13 sec cars, with a few freaks even breaking into the 12's, sounds pretty similar to the results we've seen from the 5.0 so far.
