Thanks for the review. But your wrong on 2nd gear moving too fast. Read this and you'll see how it works. Just look for "up to speed". The redline oil isn't going to help. Save your money.......

How a Transmission Works

Dont need your article..Have you ever opened a mustang trans? I even talked to Bob Hanlon many times on this.

I tried to keep it simple but ok retard i will make it better for you.

Picture the synchro as a fan with say 5 blades. The blades will represent the synchro ring or blocker ring.

Now, get a hot dog from your fridge. The hotdog will represent the synchro. put the fan on high speed and try to throw a hot dog through it without any fan blade touching it as it passes through.

the other issue is as the 6060 gears were made wider to support loads, the friction material (aka the cones) got smaller and therefore there is more time required to MATCH the speeds of 1-2 which is what I was trying to say.

The dual disk clutch has nothing to do with it as you said.

Well I'll just say I've built a few. Probably before you got your first spanking and I'm not talking about the ones you've got in your car ether. Not in the mood to school you right now. You are funny tho, hot dogs. I guess the dealer will give you all the schooling you need. Make sure you tell them about the hot dog store. LMAO.... Hey you did get one part right. They did get smaller, "but" they have three now............so stop Googleing and try and listening for a while. You might learn something and don't talk about hotdogs anymore.....;-)

I have just over 1500 miles on my '11 now with no issues. 'Course I haven't tried any WOT passes yet. Not to try and bash anyone but, I'm suprised to hear how many people are getting in a brand new car with no miles and running the crap out of it. I know the car is made to perform this way but geez. Any time I've put a new clutch, transmission, or motor in a car I've always put a couple thousand miles on it before slowly applying more and more stress to it. I'm sure the motor at the factory might go thru some break-in period but I doubt the clutch and tranny do. Obviously this just my opinion and I probably don't know what I'm talking about.

By no means did I pound on it brand new, but I did follow the suggested breakin period in the GT500 supplement.

the problem is when you try to shift too fast plain and simple, even if you depress the clutch pedal all the way to the floor and shift too fast this will happen. You literally have to shift like a 90 year old man for it not to grind.

I know a little bit about a little bit, but I never heard of anyone referencing a hotdog and a 5 blade fan to explain the function of a manually shifted transmission.... Hopefully I never hear it again either... Seriously man, what the hell are you talking about???

But I digress, my 2010 just did it too. It was fine at the track, it was fine for a few "laxed" power shifts (other than a few minor whimpers and grinds), but the other day I really laid into it and power shifted for real and sure enough it wouldn't go. Has anyone ever consider the actual shifting linkage itself? All of the aftermarket shifters out there replace the cheap rolled and stamped steal shifter bodies and the shift lever, but none of them replace the actual shifter linkage bar itself. Maybe a heavier linkage bar would help? Could that bar be flexing or deflecting? Is there a bushing at the front of that linkage bar? Maybe replacing that with something like Delrin or Poly would also help.
I can't let myself believe that the hydraulic clutch is to blame here.... Not until I have proof....
I mean seriously, I Miata as a loaner for a short time while my car was in the shop and I could flat shift that thing faster than an air shifted automatic without so much as a grunt. Hydraulic clutches have been around for a long time, we're not talking about new technology here and I just can't believe that it's too "slow" to react...

My 2010 does it too, just have to granny 2nd or it will grind. I even had it grind during normal (for one of these anyway) acceleration a couple times, doesnt inspire a lot of confidence..

I have 1500 miles now and it seems to be getting better, but I hope for a real fix besides swapping in the same parts except new and praying it works.

I have 3400 miles on mine, still cant shift fast. Hell, I can shift our Pantera faster than this car, and that's with shitty linkage with the trans in the back.

It really screws ya up at the drags though, the one gear change you really need for a good ET and you have to shift like an old fart.

I did a very spirited 1-2 shift today and had no trouble getting into second. Got a nice chirp from the tires to boot. Maybe I am lucky

Well I have the same problem now in my 11. It works fine when u pause for a split second with the clutch all the way down. I'm bringing it to the dealer , there's no way I just sent 50k on a car that U can't shift from 1-2 without grinding unless you drive like a grandma ! Does anyone have SVT 's # ?

I'm curious to know how people are running at the track with this issue. It seems like having to shift with a delay would kill your times ! I watched lethal's car run great times also didn't here any grinding. There r many more videos also that haven't complained about it either . Makes u wonder !
