I did the same thing as big wave. Remove the light and tabs. Use a spot or two of super glue to attach the tabs, kind of like a tack-weld for you guys familiar with welding. It will hold the tabs in place so you can work on them. ensure the tabs are lined up perfectly so the front of the lens...
