Wanted to get some opinions.

The prices of 2011 & 2012 GT500 Prices coming down, Make more sense to buy a low mileage low price 11 or 12 And have the car super snaked for not much more than it would cost, for a 13-14' at Current prices (or for a little more than current prices)

Of the suspension modifications and others mods on the super snake package tremendously better than the factory 13-14?

In the long run will the super snakes hold up the value better?

Super Snakes hold their value but these 13 and 14 GT500's are going to hold value fairly well IMO and if you got one and wanted to Super Snake it later on it will still hold value.

Or just find a 2011+ Super Snake for sale. They are going for less than they cost to build.

Just to clarify I mean not going in purchasing a super snake already built but purchasing 11-12 GT500 and having it converted over to the Super Snake Package.

Right, but that isn't a smart financial move. It would be much more cost efficient if you were to find one that has already been out to Shelby and made into a Super Snake.

I've driven both, I still prefer my 2014.

My answer is in my sig. I was thinking to go SS balls out mod to my '11 or a '14. Went with the '14 and I'm feeling very good about it. I thought I loved my '11, but this '14 is straight up LUST.

If you do go SS, agree with above, economically better to find one, IMO.

Of course it's a win either way.

I think the Super Snake will hold it's value better and will be a more unique car. However, I think the 13/14 GT500s are overall a little better car. That being said, you can't go wrong with either choice!

Like Daffy, my answer is in my signature. I've been less than impressed in all my (admittedly limited) dealings with Shelby American. Sadly, that tracks with many of the comments I've read online, including feedback from a guy who recently had a wide-body SS conversion performed on his GT500. They may build great cars, but their customer service skills are sorely lacking. For that reason, and the fact that everything they sell appears marked-up simply because of the name/logo, I will limit my exposure to them and their products.

A 11~12 SS would be a great car. The uniqueness of it would also be great. Now it depends if you can find a SS already built, but honestly I think that may be a bit tougher.

If a SS is the route you want to go then it sounds good. Though I think the 13's~14's will hold up well over time to.

$44-47k for an 11/12 GT500 With under 10k miles

$55k for a base 13 GT500 add recaros and Nav- $59k. Don't need all the other stuff...they replace it anyway.

SS package = $39995 (or the price of a slightly uSed boss 302) for the 850hp package.

So

$99k for a 13/14 GT500 super snake
Or
$87k for an 11/12

If you have the money to even be contemplating this- then you have the money for the additional $12k for the 13/14- which will be worth more as its newer- and has things the 11/12 don't.

AND you get a brandy-new one- with a longer warranty.

Seems like a no brainer to me.

I'm going with a new 2014. Just wanted to get the opinion of others on the forum that might have more experience with these cars than I do.

Remember, the 850HP package voids the engine warranty. That being said, I would do the '14 850 HP package in a heartbeat.

Sorry off topic but 91z28350: are you running invo's on those shelby cs1's with 680whp? I am thinking about getting that set...

Great choice! You will love this car it's awesome and I personally think the 07-09 SS cars had more charictor anyways plus old CS still signed the dash plaques that made it even more cool. Just my opinion!

Good choice! Although if you had decided to purchase an 07-09 and GET that SS'd, I might have had a more difficult time deciding.

OP...the decision is an easy one. Get the brand new 13/14 car you want, own it for a few years and/or pay it off, then Super Snake it! The whole idea of having a Super Snake, IMO, is to have one of the best Mustangs you can buy. The problem with them is each year or so the Shelby kept getting better itself. So with that said, most who will buy the Super Snake will want the ones based on the 13/14 cars. Which is no different then the regular Shelby GT500...the 13/14's will always be the most popular due to them having the most performance from the factory.

You will LOVE the'14! I've driven MANY super snakes, and they just aren't the car you are getting with the'14. Plus, you could always Supersnake the 14 at a later date and get the best of both worlds! Then there is this- why put yourself through the aggravation of doing business with Shelby? Lol
