Shifter showed up this morning. Picked up a cheap pro 50, this one has the stock handle with some nice bushings to make it fit perfectly. I am not crazy about how tall it is so I ordered a Pro 50 handle from eBay for cheap.

Hit 26k miles on it today as well. She's getting up there.

Wrenched on the 85 a bit and took it out for a cruise today. All in all it was a good day.

Friend of mine did an extension on the stocker and I was genuinely surprised. He had a Sabelt (I think) seat if I recall, and with the almost arm rest bucket like seating position, the shifter was in your hand. Flick of the wrist and it's in gear. This is on a time attack car built for CMC class if I recall.

Got my wheels balanced today finally. Car rides nice and smooth now!

I got a little bored and decided to add to the looks of the car. I was doing research on 03/04 cobra mirrors and saw that they will bolt up but there is a lip that comes down. Because this is a budget build I decided to take a page out of @mooch29 book.

all taped up and scuffed.

After about 30 minutes of dry time after 3 coats I removed all the tape.

After the clear coat dried up they looked pretty damn good

Obviously they were sprayed in the open and in the dark so its not perfect but looks great on the car.

This shot reminds me I need a bigger garage.

Fun car. Excellent driver. Video to follow.

Certainly appreciate all of the tips and lines you showed me today. And that ride along in your car was seriously the best part of the day.

Had my first track day on 4 wheels today and man was it a blast. I honestly think this is going to be more fun than on 2 wheels. As you can see I had the distinct pleasure of having @MFE as my coach for the day. Knowing I had experience with tracking a bike gave me comfort and I am familiar with the track we were at. I checked my ego at the door and truly went into this as a beginner and absorbed every word, every tip, every line, every piece of information.

Turns out I did pretty darn good. Was given the okay after 2 sessions to bump up a group, was mentioned I could possibly go to the 3 group but I want to be sure im getting all the fundamentals down pat before biting off more than I can chew.

I will be posting more pics and videos of my runs tomorrow after I get home and unloaded. MFE followed me for a session when I was out solo so im sure he will have some good footage!

Oh man, that tanks me back. Seems just like yesterday when I saw those rims on the Cobra it meant it was the last of that bodystyle Cobra and the newest ones on the road. A professor in my town had a yellow one with those rims.

And my passport after a couple sessions I was signed off to move up. Ultimately the next day I was bumped into 3 after the 2 instructor ran with me once. Thanks for the tips @MFE

Here is an onboard video. Remember in this class you can only pass with a point by on the straights. thats why it looks like i almost come to a stop in some corners behind people.

Man that's awesome. I really wish to get my car out there and attend HPDE's one day. I just need to stop dismantling it.

@suicidekings Said it on IG and will say it again, lines looked pretty good. That dude in the C6 needs to take a chill pill lol

Thanks man. Yeah he was all over the place. Prime example that its all about the driver and little to do with the car.

Its the most fun I have had in a car for sure. People are great too, always willing to lend a hand.

Got some goodies for the car recently.

I had ordered some rotors from Baer before I bought the car and I was going to put them on the 85 however they will be put to better use on the cobra.

I don't care for the painters tape, looks amateur lol. I have a friend who does graphics and I had him make me these, overall height is 21" and the numbers are 10"

I also ordered a new steering wheel along with a quick release hub.

My stock 17x8 wheels were nice however with the 255/40's they did bulge a bit so I picked up a set of 95 r wheels in 17x9. Worked out real well since I have a buyer lined up for mine and its almost a wash between these and my old ones.

After the first track day I noticed that obviously I would be battling brake dust and chunks of rubber in the barrels and faces of the wheels. So in order to prepare me for this I coated my wheels with cQuartz.

Got my tires mounted on the new wheels and got my numbers on the car. For those of you wondering why 693... that is police code for reckless driver lol.
