It is significant that Royal Purple does not recommend Syncromax or their 75w90 in the MT-82.
Amsoil does not recommend their Syncromesh for the MT-82 either.
so they want us to use 10w40!?!
ilovestangsalot,
I am happy that you are trying the Syncromesh because I want to see what happens without trying it myself. I live in FL too.
If you look at their product sheet you will see that it is recommended in the trans that use atf like the tremec tr6060.
The GT500 uses that trans and Ford recommends their atf so they do have a similar product to Syncromesh.
I am not saying that it is wrong, but I would be concerned about long term wear at high ambient temps here in FL.
No offense guys but a stiff muddy lever in cold weather is one thing. Grinding gears and unable to shift into a gear in a warmed up car... In sunny San Jose CA... is another. If your car has either symptom, just changing the fluid is a temporary band aid. Your clutch may not be fully disengaging (pp bolts backing out, hydraulics, etc). They're replacing my flywheel, clutch assembly, and entire transmission next week for these issues.
Everyone needs to STFU! Ilovestangsalot is the only that has listened so far, guess what, problem solved. I have 1 Barton shifter, 2 feet of ****ing snow in my driveway and 3 qts. of Amsoil Synchromesh under my christmas tree. I soon too will cure my tranny woes.
Take it for what its worth, don't be a pussy just fix your car. Seriously guys, I served this one to you on a silver platter, eat up.
Guess what black03! I too powershift the **** out of my MT82 at the track and it also shifts fine when powershifting, thats not the problem, thats just your shameless plug. You outright know there is a problem don't spin this like your MT82 is magically exempt because of vendor voodoo bullshit.
It is almost 2011 lets really start to enjoy our cars, just change the fluid!
Really?
Piss poor attitude, little to no credibility, and you expect everyone to take your word?
How old are you?
Run whatever you want in your transmission. Who cares. The correct fluid is 75w90 gear oil.
There is plenty of bad advise in this thread which is one of the reasons I joined this forum. It needed to be corrected. :nonono:

Lets start to document who fixed their MT82 problems.
1.) Myself - Amsoil Synchromesh
2.) Ilovestangsalot - Pennzoil Synchromesh
