Full bolt ons does not me Heads and cam... He would be make more power if he had heads and cam...
Very impressive for a stock GT500 vs a lightened, full bolton C6Z. I would love to have either car.
He is one of the unlucky few that had a bad experience with the '13 GT500.
Have to love the '13 GT500's though. Went right past their true competition, the Camaro, even past the the regular Corvette, right up to modded ZO6's. :rockon: Anyone have 60K I can have?

One is a heavy 4 seater muscle car while the other is a light 2 seater sports car. Not the same league. Ford GT's go up against Corvettes not Mustangs. Mustang vs. Camaros, it has been this way forever. And I agree, the ZO6 vs. '13 GT500 is getting old. The only reason it is happening is because the the ZL1 is getting beat.

How did it make 630rwhp if its not building boost?
2 of the videos he gives the GT500 the hit... The one looks like the GT500 missed a gear... The other one they were even then the ZO6 pulled away... So if the dyno is a number happy dyno and the GT500 shouldn't make 630rwhp stock then that ZO6 isn't really making 506rwhp... They were both dynoed on the exact same dyno...

If what you guys are saying is true then how did it make 630rwhp on a dyno before they raced???

A stock 2013 GT500 and a stock Z06 will pretty much run door to door with all else being equal. A modded Z06 against a stock 2013 is going to win. This nonsense of boost not being unlocked, stop. It takes 5 miles of continuous driving to unlock it. Do cars pick up more as they tack on miles? sure, thats true of many cars. But this GT500 was making its full power. Was the driver up to par? who knows, maybe in the wrong gear on a couple runs. But stock vs modded is a moot point.

I would love to own a C6Z06 someday, and the price will continue to drop with the new C7 so that along with my GT500 would be epic. No butt hurt here, not one the least bit surprised.

It might be different on the '13s, but IIRC it's 50 miles or 15 key cycles before full boost is unleashed.

I am the owner of the gt500 that's in the vid. Yes the car put down 622whp SAE corrected and yes the Z is a fast car.
But, lets clarify a few things that Z owner probably "forgot" to mention.
1)Z has a weight reduction. (29xxlbs w/o the driver)
2)GT500 didnt have any traction in 2nd gear at any speed(i.e 1st vid) so only clear run(which is in 3rd vid.), gt500 had to start in 3rd instead of 2nd.
Please don't forget that its a stock vs modded car. For sure the Z is a beast and one of the best american sports car but lets not forget that. Even though there are 110+whp difference between them there is also nearly 900lbs(give or take) difference as well.
