Yes they are - almost 80 lbs in front brakes!

FYI, the weight measurements so far are:

Rotor: 25.35 lbs.
Caliper assembly: 9.0 lbs.
Bracket w/all bolts: 2.74 lbs.

Minor update. I finally got the windows tinted. This is the legal level tint in IL now- 35% light transmission. It will darken a bit as it fully dries.

...the Brembo kit should be going on tomorrow. I will post updates of that project.

14" Venom Brakes Installed

I installed the brakes today - very simple and no issues at all. The hardware is now 100% ARP which is a nice bonus.

I just need to bleed them tomorrow and give them a try.

Done - ready for bleeding

so is this a bolt on kit?

Yes. It is bolt-on...no studs, no spacers, no cutting. Remove stock calipers and rotor, bolt in adapter bracket, thread in studs to that bracket, place rotor on hub, slide caliper over the studs, tighten bolts and the brake line banjo nut.

It even cleared my stock dust shields, but I took them off for better cooling. (Leave them on if you drive in rain, dirty roads, gravel, etc. though).

You will need 18" rims and will need to confirm the clearances, but I had plenty of room with my 18" AFR replicas.

are these the same brembo brakes as the 2000 Cobra R?

No. The Cobra R brakes are 13" (same as a stock Cobra rotor) and smaller Brembo calipers.

This is a 14" Brembo rotor and larger calipers.

Here is a comparison of Cobra R brakes (black on the left) to this kit. I opted for the black calipers for my kit though.

Here is my latest addition...

These are *big* for a 315 - just about 13.0" from sidewall to sidewall. They are almost 1" wider than my exisiting Michelin Pilot Sport 315s. The tires are grayish on the tread in the mounted picture, but the actual width extends out futher to the black region. These has about 37 psi in them from just being mounted too so I have lowered it since thse pics.

They did fit with my existing 1/4" spacers, but it is close.

Took them out for a clean-off test drive and WOW they do hook! I have never been able to go WOT in 1st (or many times 2nd gear) with the old Pilot Sports with my >600 RHWP. Should have some fun now leaving the line.
