That's impossible!! I read on the internet that Terminator rods were forged from the hand of God himself!?!? ;-) :coolman:

:rollseyes

Let's not put all the terminator owners in the same boat now. :D

yep...during this winter I will send my short block to Al Papitto or John Mihovitz and have him swap the rods, bearings, and rings.

Might as well do the pistons while your at it.

maybe...from what I gather the stock pistons can take a lot of heat (no pun intended).

"Waaa, my car only makes 525rwhp safely". Yep, pretty much. Ford set the bar with the terminators, and if they've lowered it with the GT500 instead of matching or increasing it, that would be a big mistake. The value of the car is a combination of what it has and more so, what it's capable of.

So true. As far as profit goes Ford (and the general public) doesn't give 2 squirrel farts if some gearheads get mad because they can't mod the Shelby how they want as long as they still sell all 9000 of them and they dont have problems in stock form.

If the motors cant handle as much power as the term's they won't sell as much.Thats what makes mustang attractive, the ability to mod:poke:

the gt500 isn't a regular mustang though. it's somewhat limited in production, and therefore they'll all sell. ford has nothing to worry about in terms of sales even it can't handle any more power.

That's what makes Mustangs attractive to you, not everyone else. The fact is until 03/04 All Mustangs/Cobras had cast pistons and crappy PM rods, and guess what, they all sold as well.

Incorrect. The GT500 will sell out because of all the viagra popping baby boomers trying to relive their glory days with a "new Shelby".

they are building as many of them as they can sell.

i have a 10th Anniv. SVT and i don't consider it limited... any car under $50k or 20 years old is not really limited anymore.

oh really? i'd heard they were only producing so many/year.

in any case, i think they'll sell just fine even if the potential isn't much more over stock. there are plenty of cheaper cars that can be modded for a lot of power. if insane power devised from heavy modding is all people want, then there's no reason to buy a new, expensive car.

Good common sense. There will not be many guys going on the hook for a 50 grand Mustang and then extracting the motor, and doing all the things necessary to replace some of the factory components. The majority of these new GT500s will never see a K&N filter.
