This is where we are in today's world. Everybody has to try to defy law enforcement. She got what she deserved. Pathetic and frustrating. Oh wait, I bet she tries to sue the officer because she didn't do anything wrong. lol

If this file crossed my desk and I would think its fairly routine. I would call the officer, check the criminal history and make an offer. in this case I would find it surprising how old the defendant was watch the body cam and dash for sure and make an offer. her age does not make it ok. if I was the officer I would have been thinking so far lots of things are going just the opposite of how I would think they would. it needed to end before things got worse, the old woman could have pulled a gun just like anyone else. she was wrong its that simple.

yes her attorney is going to harp on her age and if she has no criminal history I dont see her doing any time but she should take something.

She said “give me the ticket I’ll sign it.”

At that point officer douche nozzle should have said “here. Thank you ma’am, have a nice day.”

He’s supposed to be the professional one dealing with the moronic AARP Card carrying Karen.

    Absolutely ridiculous on both parts.

You have no clue about what good law enforcement means. He gave her opportunity to comply. Once you tell an individual you are taking them into custody for not complying, the decision is done. The other person can't suddenly say, "Just kidding! I will listen!" and expect then that you can go back.

The first step in the Use of Force continuum is the officer's presence. It's a psychological dominance/control factor that often (not always) keeps people compliant. Starts with the uniform, continues with the officer's personality, and concludes with his decisiveness of action.

Why not? You think that by being rigid to decisions made is somehow good?

    “Good Law Enforcement.”

Now there’s a contradiction in terms.

Imagine being so arrogant that you think, nay your very doctrine DEMANDS that your subjects grovel at your very presence.

She’s a ****ing moron and he’s an overzealous PIG. Nothing in this involves protecting the community.

It was two people too ****ing stupid to back a situation down and now we got a senior citizen zapped with 50k volts, threatened with jail time and a department now under scrutiny all because Captain “I Said So” couldn’t take such a blow to his ego to step back and accept that she agreed to sign the paper.

You brought up the “Force Continuum.”

    It goes both ways.
    She deescalated.
    He should have followed suit.
    He didn’t.

Now you got a PR disaster.

Oh, grow up, and quit pretending you know enough about life to have a valid opinion on this subject.

Besides, don't you have a tree to hug or a street to occupy?

GTFOutta here with your holier than thou attitude. You played your cards, you clearly have the us vs them attitude. So your opinion is trash.

Maybe someone that is a LEO could comment. I get what you are saying but I don't think the LEO can retreat once he states she is under arrest.

I am not arguing with you, just discussing.

The cop was okay at first. The lady made a bunch of mistakes, one being answering the cops questions. She admitted that the accident happened 6-months earlier. But as I watch the video, the lady acted worse and worse. And for me?, she goes hands on a law enforcement officer and I got zero (ZERO) issues with him using whatever he wants on that dumb ass.

She at one point before driving away agrees to sign the ticket. But let's say she has a handgun at the ready now. How is the cop to know?

Police never know how sideways things are going to go.

In writing this, I now wish he would has tazed her till the batteries were dead.

Please do yourself a favor and do some research on the LEO Use of Force Continuum. The officer in this video followed it perfectly. Have a nice day.
