Haha

Standard intake. From everything I've read, you only really benefit from the larger intake if you're running 25-30psi and I can't justify paying it's pretty price tag for it to just look good lol

Snapped a couple updated pics today while working on her. Don't mind the belt that's loose. I am in the process of putting a new set of idlers on the motor but KB changed the spacer length for the new idler design so im measuring to cut down the new spacer to work with my gripper plate. Basically cutting it to bring it back to the old length so everything will line up.

Bring me up to speed on the intercooler you have, i have that set up on my 99 but it's not intercooled (6psi) and I'm wanting to update it to the IC. The KB kit is about 1200 bucks.

Do you have ports in the manifold for the intercooler? If not, you will need that from kenne bell. I have a huge heat exchanger from frozen boost. Seems like its good quality even though its kindve a ricer company. Get any ic tank you want whether you want it in the trunk, stock location, or where the battery is. Do a search on intercooler pumps. You could go crazy and get a jabsco pump if you could find one. Or you could get a stock termi or lightning ic pump. It all varies man. But it definitely cost a lot less than $1200 that kb wants.

Edit: i actually have the stock ic tank that comes in the kb kit that i would let go cheap if you wanted it. That would knock the cost down.

I believe his manifold is the same as any other 2.1 manifold. I think anyways. Pretty sure the only difference between the IC and non IC kits is that the non IC kits dont come with the inter-cooler and other supporting hardware( Pumps, HE, etc)

The hardest thing is going to find the intercooler to fit the manifold. everything else you can find quite easily

EDIT: Found this http://forums.corral.net/forums/sup...-involved-kenne-bell-intercooler-upgrade.html
Worth the read if your looking to do this on the cheap.

Sorry but I can tell you that you have NO choice but to pay KB the $1200. The problem is that you can NOT buy the intercooler that sits under the blower seperate from the kit unless you have one to turn in. The rest of the stuff in the kit is easily found or bought seperately from KB.

I found all this out when I was looking to buy a KB. I found a non intercooled kit for sale and called up KB to see what I could do about turning it into a full intercooled 9psi kit.

Right now, there is nothing under the blower so I would need the intercooler, the tubes and "o" rings along with all the plumbing and the heat exchanger.

PM me about the tank, I'd be interested.

Here you guys go. 2.6 inlet modified to fit my 2.1 This wasnt an easy swap at all. Took alot of damn work. First I machined a .560" spacer which was the max I could use under the stock hood, modified the floor of the inlet to improve flow, ported, closed the cobra bypass location, relocated the bypass, relocated the fuel inlet port on the fuel rail back 1.5" to allow the inlet to clear (it will hit the fuel connection unless you raise the blower 2+ inches... It was alot of welding and machining aluminum. Now I am battling with my fuel trims (not inlet related).. I'm seeing a almost 20% difference from passenger to driver side bank when the bypass is open, close the bypass and they go perfectly in line. Why KB puts the bypass on the #5 cylinder and continues to do it is beyond me. I'm considering either removing the blower again and relocating the bypass to the back of the blower manifold which will be a bitch, there is no room there or removing my cams and trying some MPH cams... Either way not excited. I'm hoping I can tune some of it out but I'm just not seeing any results at that yet..

That's the stuff! After seeing the pics, my intake will soon be black!

The mph cams definitely fixed that issue. I dont have that problem whatsoever

Well I might end up doing just that then. I love these cams though but if I cant tune around it some then its one or the other. You honestly dont tune around it at all you just make the tune spot on and the situation improves but I dont think I will ever be happy with my fuel trims that far out of wack.

Froush would you mind sending or posting a video of your car idling? I'm curious what the MPH cams sound like... I know they are installed on a 115ICL which is VERY retarded IMO.. Mod motors make the most power between 110-112... I fear with the MPH cams some performance is sacrificed for driveablity because of the bypass issue.

From what ive researched. The mph kb cams are by far the best cams you can get other than a custom ground set specific for your car with a kb. They seem to have the best power gains even though they dont sound super lopey. The only vid i have is this one. Theres really no picture but i cant get another until i put my car back together. Click the black blob below to play. and dasaliac03, did you not see mine painted black on the first page?

Your combo is VERY close to mine... Have you ever data logged your car or anything? If you look at the fuel trims at idle or anytime what where your long term and or short term trims

I did but couldn't see it as good as in his close up pics. Going to have mine powder coated and leave the kenne bell logo silver

I think it sounds ok. Granted it doesnt sound like a race car but as long as its fast thats all that matters. I love the way my CMS stage 2 cams pull and sound. I actually made some headway today with the tune. I think I'm going to leave it as it is unless i have issues down the road. The fuel trims are along ways apart at idle but you cant tell by driving it, once your rolling and there is any load, even the AC on the fuel trims drop back within an acceptable range, no poppping or anything like that. Alot of it has to do with the boost being cranked up though I'm sure. Even when I was on a stock motor my fuel trims were off by 10 percent bank to bank at idle, same condition once any load is on the motor just barely rolling they come back within range.. For now I say **** it but in the future when I have the blower off again I will either relocate the bypass (such a bitch, I could have done it when I did the inlet but i just didnt want the look of it at all) or I will switch cams.

I'm actually in the process of relocating the bypass on my 2v 2.6L. I have the MPH KB cams and while they do make the car "drivable" the trims are still 10% - 12% out at idle and during light cruise. I've been fighting with for years and I've just decided to relocate the bypass and be done with it.

Ever since I put the KB on the car it's never been as "snappy" and smooth-running as when it was N/A.

About the best I've been able to do tuning wise it to run the car in open loop below 1500rpm. But, the tune needs to be *perfect* in that area or you will have issues.

I just took off the blower today and found that the back of the inlet has a provision for the 4v bypass valve. I think I'm going to use that and move the other end from #5 intake runner to the back of the plenum.
