As far as I know, that is incredibly hard to prove and they have to fight for everything rather than just be granted half your shit. Could be wrong but I’ve known many dudes that popped smoke 10+ yrs in and zero went to court, lost pensions, etc. Just split up tangibles etc.

Regardless, it’s that legal document and title that is the carrot on the stick for them.
