I drove a mildly modded friends '03 Mach 1 at the track with junk stock goodyears, 13.5@109 - 4.10's x-pipe, catback, cold air, Sniper tune

I also drove another friends (well used to be) '05 GTO with a tune, x-pipe, mufflers and some weight reduction to a 12.97@112 with BF G-Force T/A's.

His GTO ended up running a 12.6 I think trapping 116. It was a monster. From a roll he was pretty close to dead on with my friends '04 Cobra that had cold air and catback.

Having drove both of said cars, I'd have to say the 6.0 GTO is going to win if the driver mod is equal!

It's definitely true. Just went and got my best slip from the car. It was done at Milan in Michigan. All stock except mid pipe, cb, and the handheld.
60 ft = 2.1110
330 = 5.7547
1/8et = 8.6919
1/8 mph = 84.12
1000' et = 11.2109
1000' mph = 96.97
1/4 et = 13.3339
1/4 mph = 109.44
Car had 5,700 oor 5,800 miles on it. Didn't powershift it, looking to go back in the next few weeks to play with the launch a little as i was leaving under 2000rpm's. Hoping for a 12.999 with some real cool weather. I have a vid on youtube look under 03 mach slp and bassani off road x. Although that doesn't help prove my mods. Its a yellow mach and the video was taken at night. Thanks for the comments.
YOu must have some darn good cam timing from the factory. What was the temp. on that run? 107 is more the norm for those few mods.

Must be the fastest I/E/T, non-geared Mach 1 in the world. Nice if true.

Predictable. :poke:

It takes so very little for a Mach to outrun a SRT8 because the SRT8s are the slowest 425 hp performance oriented cars on earth. Mach 1 - 305 horsepower, SRT8 - 425 geldingpower

Some results from the real world: [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N_syOZ6HBFU"]YouTube - 04 Mach 1 vs 300C SRT8 & 02 Z28 vs 99 SS[/ame]

when you get a dyno tune, can the tuner adjust the cam timing? cause im pretty sure mine isnt a factory freak :(. it aint slow but not fast enough lol

That 305 is an under-rating. I'm pretty sure the 425 is as well. IIRC they dyno ~360rwhp, via an auto. IMO, these cars are within tenths of each other. Machs are harder to launch which is why you see ETs all over the place. Not hard to drive an SRT8 auto from 0-1320.

Checking on underground weather.com it was 75 degrees out at the time of my run. I put the numbers in on density altitude calculetor and it was corrected from 600ft above sea level to 2009ft.

Here's the video of my car at milan. Sounds like I left from idle and you can hear me shift into 4th right before the end.

no.

When it comes to Mach 1 5-speed vs SRT-8 it's a good race through the 1/4 but all the SRT-8's except the Cherokee should pull away slowly. The strongest Mach 1's trap 105-106 stock while the strongest SRT-8's trap at 108+ on a cool night. Just full exhaust, cai, and a tune will have the Mach 1 probably a little faster than a SRT-8 on top end.

Most Mach 1 stock I've seen trap 105-106. I rarely ever see any SRT8 anything other than a Jeep with spray running 11's.

I'm lost. Unless you switched to roll racing on me. LOL

I was just refering to 0-1320.

The best Mach trap speeds are 105-106mph? Best SRT-8s are 109-110mph. I understand Machs launch well and can have great 1/8th mile runs.

104-106 are the typical trap speeds with a decent driver, not the best.

All the auto SRT8s at my track (~60 ft above sea level) are running 103-104, and I've seen 3 different SRT8 Challengers and at least 5 different ST8 Chargers do exactly that.

I don't get how they run so much slower here than they do everywhere else, all of the Machs and LS1s run like they do everywhere else in the country.

Weird, I have a similar problem at Sears Point, but everyone runs slower there.

Bone stock at Sears Point, heat soaked, 2.0 60ft, headwind, humidity, I ran 13.3 @ 103.5 mph. LS1s and Mustangs were all slower unless worked on.

The problem at Sears Point is the distance from staging lanes to the lights. The 2-3 diagnostic shift alone kills trap speeds by about 3mph and several tenths. One day at Sac, avoiding that shift problem, I trapped 108mph with a CAI.

Once solving the heatsoak and with I/E, I would hit 106.5mph, stock would be about 105mph back at Sears Point.

With the tuner, 109mph and once tuned, 111mph. The 1-2 and 2-3 shifts were dramatically different.

Here is the record run for an SRT-8.

The LX forums have a timeslip database for reference.

50mph is a bad roll speed for a stock ls2 gto. he's either having to shift into 3rd right away, or too low in 3rd gear. either way good kill. i've slayed a few mach 1's on the freeway in my goat, and countless s197's. the machs are always a bit closer, but oh well. my GTO gained 30rwhp with a conservative tune--375 rwhp.

and goats are not that heavy--they are about 50-80lbs more than a terminator coupe, if i remember right.

thats wierd because all the goats i've raced went from a 50mph roll. what gears do the ls2 gto's come with?
