I think the build is neat and will turn out cool. But here is my question, in all of the reasoning about the suspension it all flowed back to towing. If your so worried about towing, why are you putting a 16" lift on a truck with big tires? All of these things are going to make towing suck B-hole. Either way, cool truck.

For the record, very rarely tow, but imagine spending all this time and money into a project just to never be able to tow again! It's not that I plan on doing it, I just want the ability to still be there

Pretty sick dude. I cant beleive your 18 and have this much knowledge haha, only thing i know how to do is an oil change. Good luck with the build, cant wait to see the finished truck

For record, I want it to be know I have abodilutely no experience at all with this kind of stuff, no college, not even high school shop class. I have an undying love for all things with engines, everything I have learned about vehicles has come from reading, watching and asking lots and lots of questions. So just imagine if a little kid with no experience and just determination can build something like this, why can't you? I don't have the funds for nice tools, don't have acces to a lift or anything like that. The whole point if this project is to show what's possible from very little cash, no experience, basic hand tools, and determination to learn. This build would cost anywhere from 40-70 grand if it was hired out, but I'm gonna show it's possible to do it for less than ten. So far I've got less than $400 into EVERYTHING you're looking at. Find a project and work your ass off for it, anythings possible

there are 2 things in life I've always said that if its not your main source of income the knowledge of them could save you 10's of thousands of dollars.

Carpentry
Turning Wrenches/Body work

Normally the 2 things in life you spend the most money on is your home and your vehicles.

Update!!!

Started off the day by pulling an 85 corvette into the shop, sanded it all down and then got to work on my truck!

One month in, and this is how everything sits. Gonna by some brackets and a couple airbags next week to figure out how to mount them, gonna try to get both front and rear console finished up, hopefully dash to! We'll see what happens

Keep up the good work OP!

thanks for the support, its hard enough to work 12 hours a day. But to drive half and hour to my garage just to spend a few hours on my truck before going home and getting ready for the next day. Its tough sometimes, but i appreciate the support from SVTP!

Nice man, I just turned 19 and I am envious. I am not a huge 7.3 fan but I respect them. Your truck is going to look sick, you will be proud as shit and everybody will be very impressed. Ignore all the people who want to educate you on how to do your own project. It's pretty typical of some people on here. Keep on keepin on!

2010 interior? Sweet!

Also, specs on the turbo vs. stock?

just gonna rebuild the stock one and put a new compressor wheel, wastegate, and bov on it. debating on a new intake manifold to. As far as interior goes. Its gonna have every factory option. Swapping from manual HVAC controls to automatic, forming new vents, swapping out steering columm, and switching from mechanical gauges to electonic. Should be a blast :rolling:
