IIRC, she didn't even get enough money to cover her medical bills. She may have filed for a million or whatever, but like most cases it was settled for MUCH less.

I was curious about that myself (I was overseas when it happened so didn't really hear much about it, like the OJ trial, LOL) so looked it up. If this site is to be believed she still made out like a bandit for doing something stupid (though McD's did have hot-ass coffee!).

If I'm the simple caveman defense lawyer in this Bushmaster case though, my argument goes like this:
"The military also has handguns, knives, vehicles, food, housing, etc, which means it's all designed for war too. Therefore, plaintiff's point AND case is moot. Booyah!"
I'd highlight the booyah with a finger snap.

This does not make safer streets. Disarming law-abiding citizens does not make safer streets.

Please tell me how criminals who do not follow laws will all of a sudden relinquish their firearms?

Ever wonder why the safest areas have the loosest gun control laws? Ever wonder why most of the worst places for gun crimes are in areas with the strictest firearm enforcement?

Its a pretty simple concept. Make owning firearms like that criminal, and only criminals will have them. You just made everyone else more and more susceptible to harm.

Your right, it should be a crime to own a AR-15. It should be required all households own at least 2!!! AR-15's. B and E would probably decrease a bit if criminals knew that every household in America had an arsenal in it.
