Furthest west I’ve ever been is Utah. Truth be told I’d like to go to CA and drive the PCH or at least some of it, go to Yosemite, and also rip Glamis at least once. After I do those things it can fall into the ocean lol
Coming here too, believe me. Stopped at a local dive BBQ place on the way home with my wife. Some man bun wearing douche came in with his wife or girlfriend. He got some very interesting looks from the locals. I didn’t see what he was driving, but they sat far away from the bar where we all were.

Loved California because I got pulled over multiple times in my SY Cobra, no cats, 3" Bassani, 2.9 Whipple, down in the valley and all I ever received were warnings and "thank you for pulling over". (Oklahoma plates, Texas Drivers License, Active Military ID Card)
My friendships within the Terminator World really took root In SoCal.

Heading to Oregon in June and driving the PCH down to San Diego. Been to Alaska a couple of times but never the west coast in the lower 48. We had this trip planned a couple of years ago but covid shut down travel one week before we were booked to fly out.
I don't care for any of their liberal bullshit values, but I am looking forward to this trip. Will be the one and only time we visit Cali.

I guess what has me miffed are the people who refuse to visit California because of politics, liberal leanings, laws, etc. How does a weekend or week long trip to see the sights even related to that? I used to live in Vegas and would take a few trips there every year to escape the heat and always had a good time. Lots of beautiful vistas in the northern part of the state. I mean when I'm driving the Pacific Coast Highway with the windows down I'm not thinking about politics and liberals. When I'm in Big Sur marveling at the redwoods I'm not thinking about tax policies or gender pronouns. At the beach I'm enjoying the water and bikini girls and I'm not preoccupied with who they voted for or what their opinions are about firearms. I just think some people are missing out on some nice experiences California has to offer because they can't set aside someone else's opinions for a few days.

I love visiting. It is a state of unmatched beauty. The policies have ruined many places which is sad. San Francisco used to be a fantastic place to visit and is now disgusting. San Diego is so over commercialized. LA is a war zone.
Cross the bridge over to Sausalito or go to redwoods and it is still stunning. Go down Pacific Coast Highway to Carmel by the Sea and it is breath taking. If I won the lottery I would buy place in Carmel.

PCH is an awesome drive. Hopefully you're doing most of your driving during the week days so you don't get screwed by all the RVs slowing you down.
Every beach you stop at count the idiots you see wearing masks. Yes you read that right, morons on the beach with ****ing masks. I know your trip isn't until June but trust me, they'll still be around.
Regarding Californians moving to other states and bringing their BS with them I am genuinely sorry.
I can say this because I unfortunately know some of them. They've either already left or are planning to. I will admit a few won't cross the line and vote blue but the others are incompetent and refuse to even attempt to understand the error of their ways.
As a born and raised Californian I agree that what is coming out of here is ****ing cancer. Hopefully it can be mitigated somehow.
My next door neighbor and his family of five are transplants from CA to here in east TN. His brother and wife just moved here as well. They are actually not crazy nuts and good people. He said all the nuts are in the big cities, but the rest of CA is actually very conservative. They are just outnumbered by the crazies. He grew up close to where Buck Owens grew up in Bakersfield.
Actually a very cool guy, and one of the few people that I'll loan a tool or piece of equipment to. He just shakes his head about the insanity that is California.
