Once in a while I do wax the rims on the Mach, usually it's in the summer months when weather is better. Looks good

I clean mine up with chrome polish and put on a coat of X-Pel twice a year. They shine like diamonds for about 10 minutes.

Also, to help keep brake dust off, I use Zymol wheel Coat. It's a spray wax, and really helps when washing the wheels to simply wash the dust off with no scrubbing.

My wheels were painted with automotive black (VW black) in his body shop, so once in a while I do hit it with a little wax. Works nicely.

I will be waxing my chrome rims when I get the car back together. Not to make them shine but to bead water and make it easier to clean brake dust off of them.

Most people neglect their painted wheels for some reason.

I remember when I was young I was taught to treat painted/clearcloated wheels the same as the car's paint job. Meaning, wax and or sealing every now and again and avoid using dirty towels/water/to hard of water pressure/etc. It also helps with the brake dust issue we have, instead of getting caked on you should be able to just wipe it off.

It looks good.

I use Poorboys Wheel Sealant inside and out on my wheels. It makes a HUGE difference in shine and beading on the wheels, specifically the lips. It also withstands higher temperatures than carnauba was since it is designed to be used for wheels so it lasts longer. I only do it 2-3 times a year, whereas I usually wax the car more frequently.

I used to do my wheels once a year. IMO it's worth the time and effort. Very nice job on yours.

Thanks for the tip. I will start waxing mine.

On an unrelated note, I met a guy with a 2012 Boss 302 who says he never gets water on the car and dust it off and then use a spray and wax product on all the panels and then wipes the panels clean. His reasoning is since he only drives the car on nice days there is no need to wash it ever with water.

What do you guys think about this approach? I suppose if you dust it often you could prevent buildup of dust. I would be worried about scratching the paint after a few years with such a routine.

When I drive my car if it's mint out and it doesn't get dirty I'll use a California Car Duster and dust the car off, spray wax and quick detail it. But if it ever even gets the slightest bit "dirty" I'll just wash it. Idk about never washing it again though, that just sounds dumb.
