called an IT guy i knew and he said "dude i'll hook you up w/ windows 7 for $120" i said "dude your aware its on microsoft site for $120 right"? silence.....

Actually when I updated it was from Vista to Windows 7. My wife's upgrade was from XP to Windows 7. But my wife had been using Windows 7 here at the office so she was happy to have it on her home computer, too. Other than that, she probably could use either XP or Windows 7 and be quite happy. Me? I always love the latest and greatest. LOL! But thankfully in this case the newest is the best Microsoft operating system. At least I think so. :)

Yeah, you're right, the two are very similar, feel wise. A few differences, but overall similar enough where the user won't have to learn how to get around within Windows 7.
