From what I heard "unofficially" of course....

Base price about $53,000

SVT package about $5995

Recaro seats about $1595

Glass Roof about $1995

Electronics about $2500

Track Pack ?? nothing yet?

Again not official but should be close to actual prices.

this man gives me hope....

Been around this business too long, and now I have to watch pricing trends, vehicle inventory, and merchandising daily.

And based on conversations with the right people, starting MSRP won't be that high.

You're pretty close.

Remember a fully loaded '12 vert MSRP starts with a 6

Just out of curiosity but isn't the Mustang going on an all new platform sometime in 2014? If so, then wouldn't it be worth it to wait till the release approaches so dealers will want to get rid of current stock to get the new models?

it looks like the 2015(MY) mustang will be riding on a revision of the D2C/S197 platform, so no new platform in the next gen.

How much is the dealer you work for gonna jack them up?

I don't work for any dealer.

But I know that many dealers are only looking to make a fair deal. I consult with many of them.

Your larger dealers in major metro markets will charge a bunch over sticker cause they can. Rural dealers will charge a fair price. I know this for a fact.

Ive already gone over this in atleast 3 other threads in this section. Please look there.

That's exactly what I heard.

Think about why they have to raise the prices.

1) New TVS blower,
2)Totally upgraded new 5.8 L engine + internals
3) Carbon fiber drive shaft
4)larger Heat ex-changer and inter-cooler
5)many more upgrades all around including larger brakes and 6 piston front Brembo calipers

Lot of this stuff is cheap for them to do or was factored into R&D costs which dont get passed down to the consumer completely otherwise consumers would not pay. That being said not really going to say much more because this topic was already beaten like a dead horse in other threads.

Not starting any arguments, you hear more than I ever will, but 6,000 dollars for a differential and shocks, and a set of forged wheels sounds terribly high.

Sounds like I'll be base + recaros.

Actually I disagree rural dealers will Jack then up too. I worked for one and they did too. 07 Shelby gt500s went for upwards of $10k over sticker. Bosses were going for $5-10k over and still are in some dealers. You're best bet is find a dealer you know somebody or get one to sell you one at sticker but everybody saying call a rural dealer and they will get you sticker nope it ain't gonna be that easy sorry

And how do they recoup the R and D costs? Or do you just expect them to eat that cost?

I think they eat it every year or make it up over the years in sales revenue

R and D costs just like every other cost in creating engineering producing and marketing are all spread into every unit they plan to sell. Every single cent it takes to go from idea to testing to finished product has to be accounted for and signed off on in the business plan by the bean counters and executives! It is a lot more complicated than I just explained as well!

Bottom line is that all manufacturing costs are divided into every unit sold. As usual svtsupersnake is completely wrong!
