I've also seen your motors come with rod bolts installed upside down

i'm not sure what rod was used. the owner is on this board if he wants to chime in. he's on his 3rd MMR motor. MMR did warranty each motor. when i asked my shop about buying an MMR motor they showed me the pics.

Exactly , you cant! Try getting a torque wrench down in there LOL.

100% not true, NO MMR engine has ever been returned 3 times for anything related to MMR's Workmanship - please have the owner come in here if that is the case

We are done here, we don't do the internet back and forth thing, its simply not professional or constructive.

OP: Good luck with your project, please let us know how we can help.

it wasn't my intent to bash MMR, but i get tired of them pushing Manley like they're the only option. they are sponsored by Manley and sell Manley exclusively. Manley makes a great rod, but they're not the only choice. where's the pics of the bent Oliver rods?

This thread is heading down hill quick. I think everyone should just move on. Both rods are a good choice IMO.

FWIW, the Manley forged H-beams are a really strong rod at half the price of a set of billet rods. I'm personally not aware of a 5.4 engine failure due to one of these rods breaking. General consensus seems to be that they're good to about 1,000 hp, but I do know guys that have pushed them further than that without failure. It just depends on what your horsepower goals are.

Doesn't frpp 5.4 short block use the manley H rods?

i didn't want to start with MMR, but they have a history of engine failures. there's a recent thread in the Termi section of yet another failure and parts ordered paid for not in the motor.

MMR HAS NEVER, EVER, not installed a part that was paid for, we have not been told of any such thread or been informed by any such customer, and in the event that a mistake could have been made we will correct it immediately.

You say that you did not want to start with MMR but you show clear intent to smear our name without any personal business dealings with us whatsoever. MMR will ALWAYS correct any mistake we make. That is why we have seen much of our competition come and go over the last 10 years. You don't get to where we are by having engine failures or making mistakes and not correcting them. At the end of the day we are human, we pride ourselves on building engines and do not need to talk about our competitors failures to sell engines, we do it the old fashioned way and let our engines and our customers speak for themself.

Please, if you dont have something good to say or don't have personal experience purchasing with our company, don't say anything at all. If people have had REAL issues with MMR they can contact us or make their own post and we will address it the best we can. Trying to defend rumors or heresay is impractical and unrealistic.

so member 03Steve is a liar about the wrong springs, rods and pins in his motor? the they guys who had wrong oil pumps installed? the flattop pistons finding there way into a dish piston build? i said you warrantied my friends 3 engine failures and payed for shipping. but three failures for one customer is nuts.

Yes it does. The billet I beams are an even stronger rod, but are probably overkill for most engine builds unless you're planning on going way north of 1,000rwhp.
the Manley H ase Chinese forgings machined in the U.S. i wonder if they use Chinese billet as well? Oliver uses American E4340 billet.
