Hey guys

Even if you dont want a tune, or your loyal to your local tuner we understand. We just want to put the info out there (with some facts to support it) and let you decided. This would also be a great time to meet some people and make new friends.

Later

So this celebrity tuner comes once a year to GTR? I remember hearing GTR used to contract some of the tuners mentioned above. True?

Yes this is true, weve used greg from ret, adam from st and steve from powertrain. But now all we use are bob from kurgan motorsports if ppl are willing to pay enough and want great results, if its a simple combo well used steve from powertrain and or chris from Blow by racing if the customer isnt tryin to break the bank on tuning. But if we get a person requesting a specific tuner then we help them out and set it up with whoever that maybe. But honestly the best results have been coming from bob kurgan. And the customers agree especially with the results, jeremys fox and all the guys he brought last time were perfect examples of how bob perfected their tunes on their cars the results were mind blowing!

Yea, RET always throws in a ShamWow or the Slap Chop on their tune specials. Can GTR match that?:-D:-D

Sorry:shrug::lol1:

With Kurgan, we'll throw in not one, but two tubs of Oxi-clean. Just pay separate processing and handling.

GO to RET

i had a bad experience with STmotorsports. not sure if its cause there isnt much of a scene out here in cali with my car, but when i called up STM dude who works there told me i better bring my SRT4 before noon cause Adam wouldnt wanna tune it, cause well that means he'd have to waste his afternoon on a NEON. i had no problem bringing it any time that was available so finally got there and Adam wasnt even there til after the time told to be there. WOW!!!! got the car on the dyno and tuned with DSP and well car made somewhat ok power. 465hp@27psi on 110 octane. he never sent me graphs cause he said his computer corrupted them all. car felt stronger than ever and i liked it. then after about 2-3 weeks of driving. i noticed something wrong, SMOKE!!! i raced the car against 3-4 cars with his tune, drove it back to Texas and when i got home, car was smoking like a chimney. turns out the car had the knock sensor turned off by ADAM the whole time. took motor apart and the pistons were all cracked on the skirts and ringlands, pieces just sat at the bottom of the oil pan. I never went back and i warned all.

Now im tuned and built again From TEXAS, made 510hp and 497tq on E85 @26psi, going for more powa... hoping to get near 550+

So how many motors have you blown up now Chris? Your on your 4th motor correct? 3 of which were fully built.

You messed your motor up Chris, it was not Adams tune. No need to keep making stuff up.

Glad to see you have not blown this motor up YET!

Damn whats up man long time no talk. Still haven't gotten the cobra yet? Are you in CA or TX right now? If your here next month come to the Knott's show and hang out for the day. It's on 4/22

Sup old man Phil?

Wow, some great info(with personal experience, to back it up), and of course USELESS Comments.
My personal experience is Swanson is out, rude and a jerk, and poor driveability; Steeve not bad, neutral nothing negative to say; Greg (RET) most pulls that he has done for me are 2 or maybe 3, and no road test, and has turned off knock sensors (N/A car) but not related to any particular tune; Adam is a bit more difficult to schedule with, but looks over the car pretty well and makes all the tunes from scratch, I have not had any issues whatsoever, but I believe that he only tunes Diablo and SCT. im sure that he can tune with other software but I have never asked. There is another guy in orange county that works out of Superior, if you want a blown up engine or want your car to not be able to make it out of his driveway stalling and chugging, when you drove it in fine, then see him (NOT REALLY, JUST BEING SARCASTIC ). Anyhow that is MY experience, I sincerely wish you best of luck with your tune.

Superior built my motor and dyno tuned my 61 Corvette about 15 years ago. I was very pleased with the work. Their reputation was built on old school muscle. They do mod motors too.

The guy that does dyno tuning for Mustangs is an outside vendor, his name is Shawn and I believe he primarily tunes with Diablo. There has always been a lot of controversy surrounding this guy and his tuning:shrug:

WOW! What a well thought out educated response. Nothing positive added, no suggestion, no advice on who to go see.

No detailed experiences to share about your experience with RET.

Would you care to tell us your alternative choice or possibly throw another name in the conversation on who to go see to get their car tuned. Since you dont know Mr. Kurgan or what he can do can you explain why you're spouting out useless non informative expletives.

Anyway good luck

If you read earlier in the thread I posted RET. I have taken probably 100 plus vehicles to Greg to tune as well as all of my personal vehicles. If I was not going to use Greg I would have Eddie Rios over at Muscle Motors tune.

I don't know Bob. I have heard good things though. My comment was simply for the member who repeatedly posted Kurgan, Kurgan, Kurgan. Thats it man. If you want any more positive advice let me know.

Greg will always take his time with customers, does good work, and is honest.

It can go all different ways. It is just like retail. If you have 1 unhappy customer they will tell 10 friends.

All of the tuners have a skeleton or two in the closet. Some are known some are not.
