I dont think you can have collector car insurance on a car you daily drive...
You can if the mileage is restricted under a certain amount, if I wanted I could drive my Cobra to work daily since it's only 8 miles and I'm allotted 5K miles yearly with American Collectors, and with them you appraise your cars value and they give you a rate based on that, mine's insured for $22K:beer:

Polygraph tests are inaccurate. I agree that if it's foul play it'll come out eventually.

Yes, they are not 100% but they are an indicator of untruthfulness. Generally someone telling the complete truth wont have an adverse reading on one.

I mean... just ask Maury Povich, he knows all about them. :) :pepper:

Already been discussed. They aren't admissible in court.

Stupidity brought to you by Tapatalk

Shouldn't worry about court. If I knew I was telling the truth about something, I would VOLUNTEER to take one to put doubts to rest.

There has GOT to be fingerprints all over that car, unless of course they used gloves. I would look into that asap before people started messing with it.

hahahahahahahahaha

seems way to shady. like mentioned if i really wanted to find who did it, i would be listing every thing the car had and posting it everywhere lookin for similarities and asking people to keep an eye out on for sale threads, especially ones with pictures.

are you sure about that? i have American Collectors on my gt500 and they specifically said it cannot be daily driven but you can drive it occasionally and didnt give me an annual mileage restriction. that and it has to be garaged.

i pay about $600 a year for a million $ policy with $0 deductible. wish i would have thought about it when i had my terminator :bash:

Swimsuit Model's Stolen Supra Found Stripped

Looks like she isn't the only one who had a tuner car stolen and found chopped up in the same lot. I'm starting to think that A LOT of people are going to eat crow on the whole "scam" theory.

OK explain the lack luster attempt to let everyone know whats missing?

explain why there are still supras sitting out from where her car was stolen

I dont care if it was just a random theft and gets proven her actions or lack there of are of certainly make u wonder

what is your response to this happened a few years ago her last supra was hit multiple people are saying it was not that bad but yet they pushed for a big insurance check wich they got. The amount they get if its the 20k she claims or more will show what really went down. hopefully it will be public knowledge.

It is a good cover though have a car hacked up in the same well known spot as others have let the police think its the same crew doing jobs one would think if you were doing something foul your less likely to get caught or raise an eye brow and its just another tuner car victim?

Your wording sounds correct to me Steve, yup locked in a garage, weekend cruises etc.. BUT I've had them for 3 straight years and they've never asked me for any info, mileage, nada? I remember the first paperwork I got mentioned a mile per year allotment but they don't seem to police it although they don't have to worry about me...

they dont have to police it till something happens lol. look at what happened to that douche who drove his veyron into the lake. his specialty car insurance denied the claim (on a couple things iirc) mostly on the fact that he said it would see less than 1k a year but it had over 5k in the first year.

theyre more than happy to take your $ and wont have a problem paying a small claim or two but have a big claim and they'll be looking at every finite detail they can. they'll just make sure you've "dotted all the i's and crossed all the t's" so to speak. of course, $20-$30k is chump change to an insurance company. you file a $100k claim and they'll be a little more attentive..

You sound jealous. Are you upset you'll never get as much attention as her? I mean she's pretty sexy and had an 8/9 second supra and you're just you with a station wagon?

If I wanted the attention she gets, I'm pretty sure I know how. Hell, even I've seen her naked. That's not something to be proud of.

What on earth do I have to be jealous of? She's a waitress in a strip club; I'm a well-paid and respected professional with a BSME. She got to where she is by being pretty, I got to where I am by being smart. Smarts will always outlast looks.

I bought my car myself. I modded my car myself - monetarily and mechanically. I don't need a guy, or donations, or a shop to do it for me. It is properly insured and parked every night in my 3-car garage. With what I spent on my nice house and garage, or my station wagon, or my college degree, I coulda had a few 8-9 second cars. Some people have different priorities.

Correct. You don't even have to be wealthy to do so. You just need to be able to realistically indemnify yourself based on established liability minimums for your state or municipality.

You do have to be somewhat wealthy. To self insure you usually need to prove that you have viable assets and or liquid assets exceeding a certain figure, and most states require a bond to be put forth at the DMV in the amount of 30k(different per state but 30k is usually around the minimum of states)

On a side note back to the 'theft' at hand, if they don't have enough proof to convict, hopefully the insurance company will deny the claim. Most companies have unacceptable risks, and a drag racing car is one of them.

So because there is clear proof this car is used for drag racing, it should be a no brainer for the insurance company to deny the claim, which is probably only going to be about 10k or whatever the ACV of this year make and model is.

Very well said, Kat, and so true. I hope that you're not implying that you're not pretty. If so, I beg to differ. I'm going to take a little poetic license with your screen name. Definition of 'hybred' is the combination of two different things. Therefore......
