The other day i was in my suv, because i never drive my stang in rainy weather, and i got nabbed for failure to come to a complete stop at a stop sign. The ticket for such a small infraction was a healthy $189.00. But no points if i pay it on time! It made me think of all of the 140 mph+ wot runs I have gotten away with, so im asking if i were ever to be caught, what can the police do to me?

Depends. I believe here in Florida if you're doubling the speed limit you go straight to jail.

Wreckless driving. Impounded car and 48hrs in jail. That's before seeing the judge.
I was in fl and got nabed at 108mph. But because I was out of state I got a ticket and court date . I hired an attorney ended up pay over $300 and got 6 points. Didn't even need to go back to fl.

They will throw your ass in jail, then dangle you car off the end of a wrecker, just for giggles.

When i want to do a wide open run i pick my time and my spots even inspecting areas before i do it. I know that doesn't garantee anything, but its better to careful then to just do it! I figure it takes my car about 13 seconds to get to 140 and another 5 seconds to slow down to about 70, so im talking about roughly 20 seconds to do it and get back to normal speeds!

My buddy got clocked at 155 in a 55 in his C6GS. For some reason he actually pulled over and waited for the cop to get him after he went by him  license cut on the spot and went to jail. Paid a lawyer big money in the long run.

I'm all for stopping and not being someone hard to get along with when it comes to law enforcement (I stopped after getting clocked at 120mph in a 55mph zone afterall), but there comes a point of speed where no matter what my chances of getting away are I'm gonna try to run. I know I'm gonna catch a lot of flak for this lol...

But seriously. If I'm being dumb enough to do 100+ and get clocked doing it, I'm NOT going to be dumb enough to stop. Now there's circumstances to be considered. Is it day or night? Does he have to turn around? You obviously don't wanna be the guy in a bright yellow Mustang with black wheels blowing by a state in the fast lane during the middle of the day.

Some sense has to be used here (as ironic as that is considering what we're talking about).

Here's one that would apply for me specifically, theoretically: If I'm on my R6 going for a top speed run on a four lane highway, at night, separated by a median (with or without guardrails/barriers for all I care), what are the chances that ANY LEO is gonna catch me if they have to 180 and still close the gap I created by blowing past them at 160-170mph? Surely you don't think they actually got a description of me or my bike at that speed.

Don't let me sound like a badass, because I'm not. I wouldn't act in such a manner, I'm just giving an example. The smart LEOs, though, turn around nonchalantly and come up behind you slowly after the fact. ;-)

We were talking about cars. Bikes are a whole different animal.

I would say 90% of the cars on this website and that are respectable in general are more than capable of 160-170mph. You're confusing how quick a bike can do it, but it's all relative.

i caught a 92 in a 65 my first week back from deployment... fortunately the trooper clocked me when i was slowing down for my exit and not at wot.

he was stationary in the median facing traffic. dang trooper almost ran past me when i pulled over on the exit ramp. i wasn't going to run but i wouldn't have waited for him to circle back.

just under $400 in fines and ZERO points. the judge decided to cut a Marine MP a break (thank you sir).

as for "can't out run the radio"... it's really not much of an issue out in the county. i would never put lives at risk to avoid a ticket but running in some places isn't hard to do and win. it actually happens around here several times a year that i'm aware of.
shit one dude did it the other week in the city!
1. one officer crashed his patrol car
2. suspect got away to later get rolled up at a gas station
3. radio didn't help

Sure, depends where you're at. You aren't getting away from anyone where I live. Maybe, just maybe, on a bike. I have plenty of friends that are LEO, it is a rarity to get away with it. You might make it home, but they'll find you. It's stupid to possibly throw your life away over speeding.
