Hey guys thanks for the replies.

I drive an 04 terminator that I got down to around 3350 and the c6z is about 3200 so not that bad. PLUS he had a passenger so I figured we were more even. I know he makes under 600 and I am over 500. Plus he's an OK driver at best. From a dig I ate him up until higher speeds. I knew there was a chance I might lose but not that badly. How much money am I talking here to beat him? Twin screw you say?

My friend has a new GT500 with the 600+ horsepower that should take it right?

OP have you been living under a rock??? LMAO

You thought you had a chance with a slightly modified Terminator with a little weight reduction against a HCI C6Z???

i just dont get how you could make that dumb of a bet unless you asked him to give you 5 cars and the hit, lol, yah live and learn i guess. You must be new to the car scene.

I personally didn't think 250lbs was a slight weight reduction. A new gt500 Shelby should do the trick right?

He'd need 700÷rwhp from a roll.

You can get the Vettes to hook. Nittos are not the answer and many Vette guys are afraid to run real tires on them

A stock z with good driving can go mid to high 11s at about 122-125 in decent air. With good bolt ons and drag radials 10s can be had and trap speeds of around 130ish. A heads cam one depending on head and cam used can be a 135 MPH car on pump gas and can be Supra like on the highway

Good death

What do you mean by real tires?

Not out the factory door. You're talking 600+ hp at the crank for the Z06 and that car weighs like 3200lbs, the GT500 with similar hp weighs an additional 700lbs or so. Unless you hook a U-Haul trailer full of your couch and love seat to the z06 your buddy will still get yanked from a roll.

7 liter modded vettes are mean as hell on the streets. Hard to argue with that many cubic inches.

I got the car used so it may have been ported. That would explain the dyno #s

I may do a healthy shot of spray to get the ball rolling. Can these cars handle a 200 shot for brief periods?

I want to beat this guy bad

Thats what I'm thinking, he failed to mention that though.

On a serious note, you can put a healthy shot to these cars and they really turn on! Make sure your fuel system is on par.

I bet he is around 700 at the wheels with the mods on the z06 depending on the cam. I had a c6 with cam headers and exhaust making 503 at the wheels those cars respond really well to the work he did

N/A c6z's can maybe make a hair or so over 600 WHP. h/c/I/e w/e85. Never heard of stock compression/displacement LS7s making 700. It just takes 100- 125 more HP from mid to high rolls to keep up with one because of their weight/gearing/aero
