Personally I'd stay away from R32 GTR's. Mark 4 supra's are very rare in Japan. GTR's are literally everywhere. If you look in the distance at any highway in Japan with or without binoculars you'll probably see some sort of Skyline.

After seeing Skylines and Mark 4 supra's together I'd say the Supra is the better car as far as looks and quality. The Supra's interior falls apart like a mustangs, but it is way more aesthetic/less crappy than the skyline.

The R32-34 skylines are very bland cars compared to the Mark 4. However their performance is better than the Supra, and somewhat makes up for the blandness.

Why when it comes to imports do you recommend people based on what's most common in Japan? This is like the third time you've done this.

We live in America. Both Skylines and Supras are rare here. Nobody gives a **** how they are in Japan, Jamaica, Guatemala or any other non-USA country.

Well it could be that I lived there for two years, or it could also be that the Mark 4 Supra makes the R32 Skyline look like a cardboard box when sitting together in a parking lot.

Plus R32-R34 frames are very easy to bend during extremely low speed accidents. The actual metal is not as strong as American spec cars. I'd imagine a Japanese spec Supra to be the same way.

I know you are a fan of GTR's in general, but they aren't as amazing as the fanboy's who have never seen them make them out to be. However I will say that their performance is absolutely as amazing as the fanboy's make them out to be.

Overall I'd choose the Mark 4 Supra simply because it looks amazing, and can easily make power. If the OP wanted an R32 GTR I'd definitely understand that as well since it too is a great car.

Honestly I keep looking for a stock Supra to build. It's a soft spot I have. Probably some sort of mental deficiency but I'll take it.

I told someone the other day who was going through his "MOPAR is best" speech that I really wasn't partial to one particular brand. I did tell him it was easier for me to tell him which manufacturers I didn't like. With that being said I love Toyota's! I had a 1993 MR2 Turbo. Thing was stinking fast and was a dream when cornering. Always wanted a Supra but after fast and furious they were over hyped and over played. I'm new here, but it looks like you have a lot of projects. Do what YOU want and what you are comfortable with.

Do it. Hard to find one not ragged out though. Be patient.

I bought one in 97 and owned it for 6 years. It was my first fast car. It's the one I regret selling.

Supra's aren't all that. Any shitbox can be made fast with a built motor and large or multiple power adders, to supplement.

I understand you've spent some time there, and thanks for your service BTW, but it seems like a moot point to push someone in a particular direction based solely on what's going on in Japan. It's also kinda a moot point to mention the Japanese-spec Supra as they were made here too, and OP would likely be purchasing a USDM version (though I could be wrong). But spot on about the GT-R.

And no, I'm not a GT-R fan in general. Just the newer ones that are actually sold here.

Supras are badass, just don't go all out...They're a total blast to drive with a stroker + reasonable turbos with mid levels of boost to make around 650rwhp. Big turbos and lots of boost = a lot of annoyances. I lived right down the street from majority owner of Sound Performance. He was CONSTANTLY fiddling with them, although he wasn't getting major failures it never ran 100% two weeks in a row. Lots of boost pressure + lots of timing = no margin for error in tuning, plumbing, ignition, manifolds, BVs etc, etc. Something was always leaking, blowing off or misfiring, if it wasn't for one reason it was another.

That being said, driving a Supra really pisses me off at North American car manufactures. It drives 100,000,000X better than any Corvette of it's time. They're extremely tight and refined, by no means lightweight sports cars or reasonable at making big power like a ZR1, but very enjoyable nonetheless. Everything was just designed right, you will never hear a clunk or thud in the trans or IRS or a tick or flutter in the motor and get a stethoscope if you want to hear a rattle...

Vs. a Corvette, lol. Drive a 3 year old one and everything is clunking, clattering and rattling.
