low 10s with front engine, rwd and street rubber? I dont think theres any car in the world that can do that.

LX chassis has some fundamental issues aside from the tire size. The hellcat has 58% of the weight over the front axle. They would need to push the engine further back in the chassis and/or change to AL block, in addition to a trick suspension that can squat and hook on launch.

switching to AWD is the obvious solution, but i doubt they will go that route

The current Hellcat is NHRA certified at 10.8 (Evo magazine nailed a 10.9) on stock summer tires, which are 275s. So tell me why it woudn't be possible for low 10s on more hp, better suspension, and DRs?

and whats a trick suspension? Of course it's going to have a better suspension. It's also going to be 900-1000hp

Everything I said has been mentioned by a member on the Hellcat forums (as well as a couple other Chrysler forums) that claims to be an employee at Chrysler and has access to up to date info. I would challenge him on it, however, he's got a flawless record of being right.

get outta here with logic. It defeats haters, dont you know? hahahhaahha

Never mind the fact pictures have been posted of the car, with said tires already on it.....

you serious? You think a concept car with drag radials is the same thing as a prod

i have no dog in this fight. Hopefully they are able to pull it off. If they do, it will truely be the proverbial hydrogen bomb in the hp wars.

All im saying is currently there isnt a front engine, rwd production car in the entire world that can pull that off regardless of price tag.

And currently there are no factory stock car that come equipped with drag radials. I believe there a NHTSA regs preventing them from doing so. And if there arent, it is strange that the original hellcat did not come with DRs.

Because Chrysler was going for top speed. They needed to cut down on friction, so they went with 275s to squeeze out the 204mph top speed. They do pretty well in the 1/2 mile and standing mile runs. Unfortunately though, most of us don't need/want top speed, which is why you will see a large number of HCs with replica rears in 10.5 with Nitto 555Rs. The 555R is probably the best wet/dry grip combo you can get in a DR. I agree that the MT ET is probably better dry traction though, but also has a lower treadwear rating.

Ford might have to re-release the Super Snake version of the GT500. Never-the-less, I can't wait to see numbers and pics of the Demon.

I desperately hope that the next mustang halo car will be awd...and that they dont call it a gt500. So played out imo.

Have you guys looked at the demon spy photos closely?? It looks like it has 4 drag radials on the purple test mule.

The shelby name sells cars. Its brand recognition at its finest. Ford would be stupid to not leverage that to their advantage.

Depends on where you are. No E85 stations anywhere near me.

Ah forgot your right, im in GA, so its abundant for the most part. Either way im sure a tuner could tune that button to run 100 or e85 if it is real.
