Just go to Monterey Car Week and you'll see virtually every rare car possible. New/old/whatever. It's all there. If you can think of it, you will probably see it somewhere on the peninsula during the week, driving or parked.

Beyond car week, rarest car truly in the wild would be this: sitting in the parking lot outside the circuit at Le Mans in 2010 otherwise surrounded by shitty ecoboxes. Ballsy. I assume he drove it over from the UK, had an F40 in tow. Still the coolest.

Used to store both a 959 and a 993 GT2 Evo. Those are pretty rare birds. Was never really crazy about the 959 but didn't mind having the Evo around to ogle. If you're a Porsche nut, those are unicorns.

From the personal "you have to be kidding me" files, technically it is a public road. Driving the 06 FGT behind this crew. The real things.

Speaking of the aforementioned car week, I have seen Kauffman driving the 66 winner on the road during car week.

Maybe not on the street but I saw an original Shelby AC Cobra at a track meet. Wish I had the pics to show it.

Saw one of the all carbon fiber p1’s with the yellow trim being followed by a yellow la Ferrari about 3 or 4 months ago. Driving on I-45 north heading to Conroe. I’m sure it was a coffee and cars day. It was about 10am on a saturday.

Saleen S7 in Houston a few years back. There’s an XJ220 here in the Austin area that the owner brings out to the annual jag show in Georgetown. I saw that this year and was really impressed.

It very likely could be. Regardless if it was, it looked very well done, racecar for the street. The Z is going to be sweet when it is finished, but we have been busy so slow to put it back together. We painted it Brittany Blue which is a Mustang color and looks great on the car. But that also reminds me, when I was in high school, about 15 years ago, I used to see a Toyota 2000GT driven often on nice days. Obviously well before they were million dollar collectables.

Another thing, could’ve been a 935 converted to street use. That was a common thing to do back then. Everyone loved that 800HP Turbo 3.0L F6. It was a big reason why Porsche decided to make the Slantnose. Unfortunately we didn’t get the 800hp engine, but you can convert it to 935 specs pretty easily. It isn’t hard to do.

Pick your poison.

I was at a small car show at a church in Cumming, Ga in the early 2000s

I was running errands and just stopped by and saw the show and wanted to see the cars

There was a beat up white 1969 Copo Camaro sitting there

I don’t know all the codes for Chevy stuff but the kicker was that it was a right hand drive

It had a Barrett Jackson type windshield banner that said something like 69 COPO CAMARO 1 of 9 RIGHT HAND DRIVE (I don’t remember the exact number but it was low)

I asked a couple of people if they thought it was real

One of the guys claimed it had an export code on it

The body was in rough shape and the interior was in better shape. I always wondered if it was real.

I think one of the most exciting things I’ve seen was an R8 test car. Had no idea what it was and had to look it up on the internet.

Rarest I’ve seen was an Aston Martin One-77. Even have a video of it making a speed run somewhere, which is even rarer.

Otherwise a few Enzos, an F40 and F50, maybe a Vector could be rare?

In day to day situations, no rich areas, car events or tracks around:

Countach
Diablo VT Roadster
Original Celica Supra from the 70s

Uncommon cool stuff:
Prowler
Lotus Espirit Turbo
BMW 850

The Vector is very rare. They haven't aged well but ever since I saw it in one of the first Gran Turismo games it was one of my favorites.
