yep 2 thumbs up for me! I'm running the 315/30/20's and all I can say is Wow! I warmed them up a bit, then went playing from a dig....Holy cow
batman...no joke...

Then just playing around town, they're great. Keep in mind, I'm only running
620/640tq but they work out extremely well. I'm sure when I get up to 700 whp they will be fine:beer:

I can't comment on wet traction...and probably wont since she goes out when
its only nice outside

For those that have these tires - where did you purchase them from? Cheapest I've heard of is from this website for ~$270/tire for 315/35/17. TOYO Proxes R888 315 35ZR17 102W @ TiresDirect.Net Anyone seen that size for cheaper? I'll be ordering mine very soon. Turns out homemade slicks aren't too safe.

that is the cheapest place I found, and searched the whole internet it seems like. Ordered mine this morning: 255 35 18 / 315 30 18. Fast shipping, just ordered them this morning, shipping from IL, only 2 days to TX! Will have them Friday

I think you have me sold in trying them out in my 315/30R18 size. I have been looking for a good handling tire that can stick without resorting to a drag radial or drag only type tire. I only drive in the dry too.

I have 5 yr old/(only 5K miles) Michelin Pilot Sports that are getting near the wear bars (yeah!). They feel pretty hard and they have had no hope in holding 1st or 2nd gear at >50% throttle with my 600 RWHP Cobra.

Thanks all for the feedback.

Unless you are trying to help your big, fat, noise heavy car understeer why would you put some wide, very sticky road racing tire on the rear with some much smaller, less stick, higher treadwear rated tire on the front? I mean I can understand this with DR's as most people running DR's aren't that concerned about the cars handling, but y'all are talking about how well they handle.

Sure they'll feel much less wobblie than DR's do to the stiffer sidewalls, and they plant the power much better than street tires do to the much stickier rubber, but they also easily overpower a less sticky front tires grip. Hell even running a bigger version of the same tire in the rear than the front will do that, but especially if the front tires compound is much less sticky.

My next Mustang will probably be getting these tires on all four corners.

be warned....toyo r888s 315 30 18s are SUPER WIDE (13"). had them mounted yesterday on a 10.5" wheel.....and they bulge bigtime. this tire needs to be on an 11" or 11.5" wheel to look right IMHO. they spec out to be 335s (toyos spec sheet on them is wrong) unless they stamped my tires with 315 on accident

Wow! I guess I will find out myself unless I can change it before Monday and go with a 305. I currently have 315 Michelin Pilot Sport tires, but they seem to run narrow (on 10.5" AFS rims).

If you have pictures of your setup, that would be very helpful. Also what 10.5" rim are you using?

Thanks!

Ha J! Based on your comments, I do not think you are emotionally ready for the pics.......I know you have experienced a tremendous loss, but rest assured these sweet puppies have found a good home!

Pics bro!

Ok, digital camera is dead.....so here are some quick shitty cell pics.....hopefully soon I can convince Kevin to take some 04sleeper pics! I have not driven the car yet, nor got it off ramps. suspension needs to settle back to normal (after a drive round the hood it should)......so stay tuned for the REAL pics!

The bulge does not look bad with wheels on the car, but it was quite profound when I 1st had them mounted.

Another thing....the toyo r888s dont have the rim "lip" protector integrated in the tire.....so the lips on my 18" replicas really pops out (especially on the front.

These are the only pics i have for now, but from behind this is one sexy tire!

Thanks for the pictures! That does make me feel more comfortable with them. I will miss the rim protector though - both for the protection and the look.

:??: My NT05's were awesome in the rain and their are several people on this site with a lot more power than my Cobra that agree. Have you had them? This is the first time you mentioned these tires in this thread is why I ask

Yeah I had them installed for one month before they almost put me in a guard rail. It wasn't raining and the pavement was ever so slightly wet...no standing water at all. And yes I was driving carefully for the conditions especially considering the tires in use. This made me too uncomfortable to use them again daily...I like my car too much to risk crashing it. These tires now reside on my autocross/track rims an only see dry use.

I think you are referring to the NT-01s (road course tire) not the NT-05s. The NT-05s have very good wet weather traction. On the other hand the NT-01s do not.

Your OP stated you had the NT-01s on your car.
