I am just saying, based on the numbers ran today in the heat, the GT500 is more on par with a Z06, not a ZL1. If the ZL1 can't beat a 2012 GT500, why would anyone think (even AL O) it would hang with a 2013?

If you thought I was bashing the GT500, I was not.

I DROVE one today at costco, at first I saw it on the street, had to do a double take and just figured someone bought some 2013 head/tails for the car, but it was DIB.. It had long passed me so I just kept going and didn't think about it, just went to costco and got to shopping. Well as I was loading the stuff into my trunk, I turned around and saw it parked about 10 spaces away and the driver was getting out. As he walked towards the store I asked him if that was an actual 2013 gt500, and it was! He invited me over to check it out and insisted that I drive it around the parking lot, I wasn't about to tear around an extremely busy parking lot in a 660hp unreleased car, but I tried lol. I was expecting a similar throttle responce and gearing, but it was definatly geared completely different. Awesome car though, the driver worked for ford in the finance department.

I heard Al "dunkin donut King" O's simulator had a heat soak issue.

Did you get banned yet, for speaking the truth??

Hey Ramair, were all runs done with launch control??

Sax, you got banned too, huh. LOL

Pretty soon all that will be left there are a bunch of circle jerkers talking about how pretty their cars are. What next, talking about getting that tissue holder for it (classic cars guys should get that one). LOL

All runs were with launch control
A few forgot to turn it on and spun, there were also a few that almost put it into the wall.

Nicely said, but the ZL1 is the direct competitor so that is why they are compared.

Your statement about the stock Z06 running similar times. That should make us Mustang guys proud. The Z06 is no slouch and is light as hell.

I am a Ford guy through and through, and to hear you say that made my day.

All of Evans were also?? It sounded like what he was saying on the video that is really hard to hear. Those damn GT500's were just making too much noise. LOL

It will be interesting to see Evans numbers, with no nannies.

That is very cool. The ZL1 is about .5 slower when LC is used, vs without.

That tells me that Fords LC is much better than GM's, and the car is going to run some insane numbers without it, in good conditions with a great driver.

It will be fun to see.

That said, very cool of you to try to help out those poor disillusioned C5 folks. Note that noone is talking to you yet. Not surprising though, because if they talk to you, they have to have an open mind for the truth. Not alot of that over there.

Make sure that everyone understands that all runs were with LC. So, we can compare LC numbers with the ZL1.

Oh, when a few of those guys read the corrected magazine times, their heads will explode. LOL

This has been quite interesting. Thanks for all the photos/times.
Why the hell did they use the Atl Dragway? I dare say they could have gotten better times at ANY other strip.

It felt long, which is to be expected from a car with a 200mph claim and 660hp that they want to get to hook up. I came into it comparing it to my 2012 5.0 with a 6spd, it wasn't as short. Also the clutch is long as hell.

Thanks to everybody for all the updates. This made my day. I think C5 will need to hire a few suicide prevention counselors at this point.

I fully expect a stock 2013 GT500 to run DEEP into the 11s. Good driver with seat time, good track, ideal conditions and this thing is going to be an absolute beast. Good job Ford!!!!!!!!!
