irrelevant. buy car, copy intake, sell car.
Ok so 40-80K to get your hands on a car...Have you checked to see what the foundrys will charge for prototyping? Likely around 3K for the first piece, (lower only) say another 2K for the upper- now are you gonna front the additional 30-50K for 10 copies? What happens when no one wants to buy one? Cuz 3K is too much money (ie the fr500) now youre sitting on a $30K pile of al. I believe Al Papitto looked into something similar way back when for a navi based swap intake...

Daryl - It looks as if the engine mounts are also 00R specific and lower the engine by 6mm as well as the shims added between the k-member and subframe, left and right. I wonder if some of this was also done to provide additional valve cover clearence in the master cylinder area?

I remember reading about the mounts.. I had forgotten about them.

For the guys that actually drive their cars, I wonder what we're gonna have to do when the original mounts wear out. I highly doubt any factory replacements are available.

I agree that the buyers for an item like this are limited. Most people that I can think of, who would take on such a financial project of this type are definitly expecting a return on their investment, not a buyer here and there and sit on the rest of the inventory for an extended period of time. This intake is a very neat piece and to someone who needs one for an original 00R, almost priceless in some ways, but with only 300 cars built, and many in garages with little use, how many are actually going to need complete intake assemblies in the future?, and then how many 00R clone guys are willing to fork out the big $$$'s? Replicating this intake would be quite a large $$$ gamble, IMHO.

I wonder if these mounts are carried over from something else (non-Mustang) in the Ford line, but "unique" as only being used in the Mustang line on the 00R application?

2000 cobra r intake vendor information

Hi,

just an fyi, I have been in contact with the vendor that made the intakes for the 2000 R and have been told that ford is considering re-issueing them in the Ford Racing catalog...I will keep you posted

the company web site is: http://www.soligen.com/

email correspondence:

Bill,

We are talking to Ford about the possibility to make these for their
catalog. Somehow they got enough interest for these, and since they own
the
design it has to be that way.
