From Philly now Tampa, Fl
Maybe Circle D will make a non Billet converter at lower cost for the lower HP guys.
They seem to have the insides all figured out now they need to put it inside something less expensive. If Ford can make the factory converter hold up it can be done.

As far as the rattle precision, yank, circle d, tci, ets all said that when you have a multi disc converter it may rattle some at idle, but most people with multi disc converters have exhaust and don't notice it.

Called and talked to someone at Yank earlier this week and the guy told me they didn't make converters for the 6r80 because of tuning problems with these transmissions. When I asked what the tuning problems were, the guy just stated he had read a lot on the forums about tuners having problems with tuning these vehicles with aftermarket converters. Anyone have any insight on this?

I have a circle d, love it. But yep 5.0 tax sucked. But when got it was only one out. I did call others. Most said working on one. Will be out "SOON" 1-3 months. I heard that a over year ago for my 2011 manual 5.0 for the Kmember.

some tuners have trouble tuning stock converters, thats your tuner.

if your tuner knows what they are doing, you have 0 issues.

I've had a PI 2600 rpm street converter in my '89. I had them install it at their Gaithersburg shop in 2000. No problems so far, 13 years later. The put 3.73s in at the same time.

That's just the reason the guy at yank told me they wasn't producing converters for our vehicles. He told me to call precision industries.

i hear you.

it's just silly though.

you have one of the hottest cars ever produced, been out for nearly 3 years. And have one main player out there, with another starting to jump on board.

places should have been chomping at the bit to get some of the action

Do you mean PA as in Performance Automatic when they were in Gaithersburg, MD

I agree. That's why I was knocking the doors down in the beginning of 2011 right after PRI. I was amazed at the lack of want, glad Pro Torque is stepping up.

Any one have revmax convertor
somebody posted that Revmax uses a single disc lockup clutch...which makes absolutely no sense when the stock converter comes with twin discs. I used a Revmax in my 408w C4 foxbody and it was an excellent piece...give them a call and ask about the lockup clutch.

their lower priced converter is indeed a single disc, but so is the competition's.

revmax makes a multi-disc but the cost is right in line with a circle d & it's unproven.

if you looking for a high line race converter, there really is no choice other than circle d at this time IMO.

if your looking for a budget friendly street oriented converter that still packs a punch, here you go.............
ProTorque 6R80 Street Assassin Torque Converter - Justin's Performance Center

this converter has seen extensive testing both in my car early on (as seen in the background of the converter swap pic in the add) & the grey '13 car & is ready to go.
