This is going to be an amusing website for the next 18 months.

The new car is gonna make some people really happy, and it's gonna make some people really pissed.

I'm thinking a 5.8L. Also it doesn't need to have a supercharger/turbo.. it only had forced induction for two years. The Coyote can make power naturally aspirated unlike the 4.6. :kaboom:
Try more like 10 years :bash:
I dont think people would want an N/A top of the line Mustang anymore. They should continue the line of the Boss as the mid high tier but keep the SVT top dog FI.

You guys do know that they put foam and things under the cover to throw the shapes and curves off the car. So what you are seeing might not really reflect what's actually under there.

Exactly. There are all sorts of odd shapes of foam underneath the camo. Trying to speculate about specific shapes or lines is laughable.

I've driven them with foam up to 3" thick nearly everywhere. And even thicker blocks on the front and rear.

The speculation here is entertaining.

I remember when these ran around half covered...I took this pic behind the Powertrain Operations building after they had camo removed.

Yep...My guess is the 2014 GT500 Shelby will be the last Mustang from SVT to ever carry that badge. Cobra has always been one bass ass Stang. If the 2015 Cobra does not have forced induction from the factory you guys will get one and mod it anyway.

Two years?? The top Mustang has been blown since 2003 and still is to this very day. The GT500 is just a continuation of the Cobra. I hope they stick with forced induction.

I meant under the "Cobra" name, not "Shelby". :bash: With talks of it being a big displacement engine I'm thinking it'll be a 5.8L/6.2L with IRS and some decent weight savings.

I LOL at the people who think Ford can't squeeze more power out of the n/a 5.0. The coyote makes 420hp without breaking a sweat and there are still nonbelievers out there???

I say ford keep the top dog mustang at 662hp just to keep everyone happy. But make the next boss 302 a 550hp n/a screamer!

I know what you were shooting for, BUT the Shelby is just a continuation of the Cobra. If the Cobra makes its brand name back on the SVT Mustang it is just going to be a label that is currently taking center stage around the setup it started in '03 and that continued to be used to this very day. Shelby was a different brand name slapped on the SVT Mustang. At the end of the day it is all the same thing. It would be different if the '07 GT500 came out with a huge N/A motor and continued that trend until today but everyone knows the GT500's roots come from the Terminator. Just like the roots of the Terminator are from the Lightning and previous Cobra.

How will 550hp happen from 5.0L? :lol1: Ford put on CNC ported heads, a revised intake, more aggressive cams, and a gay special tune unlocked with a different key all for another whopping 25hp. 475hp MIGHT be possible, or even 500hp in a $70K budget busting car. But 550hp from a naturally aspirated 5.0L? :kaboom:

They can make 800hp out of it if they wanted to get every pony out of that motor they could.

Itll just cost $200k per car to do it.

It's already been said that neither of those engines will fit in the new chassis.

Think 5.0TT..

I highly doubt that too though.

Not enough room, they barely TT'd the CobraJet, and to make that a mass produced setup is years away.

Though it would be insanely badass to have a low comp forged internal coyote/roadrunner powerplant.

I'm happy either way. I was simply stating possibilities as to why they would leave it N/A. I've always favored boost and small displacement V8's, anyhow. Bring on the TT 5.0

Well seeing as the 4.6 and 5.4 are DEAD, so is the 5.8. Count on a 5.0 variant, pretty certain that motor can be taken to 5.8 safely... add in direct injection... I mean hell the Boss 302 did 444hp with no DI and 5.0L. Add DI and that extra .8L..... 600hp seems reasonable. Remeber the S550 is going to weigh less than the S197, like 300lbs less.

1)There's a post in here that is worth bookmarking for its accidental correctness.

2)I stick to my recommendation that if you're a really big fan of the overall 13/14 GT500 package, than you should buy one now.
