Thank you, just checking to make sure. I have been considering this kit and planning for the ancillary parts that will/may be needed.

How is it a knock off? Because its a single turbo kit with stock exhaust manifolds?
There are only so many ways to build someting like this. I know knothing about this particular one they are selling here but it looks nice and looks to be gaining a following.
At first glance, most of the twin turbo kits *look* about the same to. It might be differnt if someone took an existing (kit) and had cheap duplicates made in China. Ebay has examples of that with headers that look almost identical to high end name brands but sell for 1/3 of the price. The quality of materials,craftsmanship and fitment usually isnt as good though.
I see no patent infringement issues here...

It's almost identical to the jpc kit.. like 98% the same.
is it cheaper than this for forum members? Cause buying direct from edpperformance.com it's $150 cheaper than you have listed
doesn't it always lmao... can't go on any site/thread without this happening.. not just from them but with multiple vendors lol. I guess it's a tough competitive market

Have you installed both a JPC and EDP kit YOURSELF? No? Than how can you say they are 98% the same? Im just curious, because I was the 2nd privately installed EDP kit, I personally know the owners, 1 of which was the one who built the kit. He has been building custom turbo kits for his personal cars for years and he built the first gen of this kit from scratch in his garage. I watched this kit take shape. He didn't rip JPC off. IF it so happens everything is the same it is purely coincidental because I know he did not have a JPC turbo kit around to go off of. But I have already talked with people who have seen both kits in person and they say the EDP kit is a much better fit under the car (no low hanging piping). Which, if correct, means they are NOT "like 98% the same". The only obvious similarities are the turbo placement, and the use of the factory manifolds.
I haven't seen either kit in person. I understand you're biased because you're friends with the guy.
Looking at pictures, they look very similar. I find it funny, a couple years after a very well know shop making a very good turbo kit (JPC), then someone else comes out with a VERY similar kit for a fair amount cheaper. Imo, that's shitty and I wouldn't deal with people like that. Until an EDP turbo car goes faster then JPC their knock off kit is in 0 way better then jpc kit.

So you did some "research" and talked to 4-5 people most of whom have probably never seen an EDP kit, looked at a few pics and deciphered that it is a JPC rip off and that these guys (who you have never meet) are "shitty" people? That's cool man, your money, do whatever you want with it. The CPR kit is a very good kit from everything I have heard. But calling people shitty when you don't even know them is pretty low IMO.
So isn't ripping off people's turbo kits...
It's like someone taking someone's tune file, making a few different changes and calling it their own. All the hard work is done, making a few tweaks doesn't chance the fact that it's not their own. I won't keep posting, don't want to clutter it up anymore
